  1. What part of NEW don't you understand, my Charlie Sheen cloned friend? Take out the Trash like the rest of us Pu**y whipped losers-LOSER! Who do you think you are kidding? So what exactly does your Honey-Do list show? Want to compare Notes? Winning my #ss!!!!
  2. One: I have already stated that I am not interested in a portable MAC-MAC Mini whatever! Reason: Questionable, if not very costly upgrade path. Path of least resistance, modular PC Desktop. Two: MAC Desktop costs, on the average, twice as much as PC equivalent. Three: Can't afford a luxury item, like a Desktop MAC. Modular PC Desktop is dirt cheap to upgrade, and I can upgrade as finances allow. Four: Have already stated that I have absolutely nothing against MAC, just not going to rob a Bank to get one. It is a LUXURY ITEM, period! Luxury Items take a hit during a Recession, with U.S Government (Taxpayers-Us) owing 14 Trillion Dollars! Your Taxes are going up, get used to it! Certainly paying more for gas, and Health Care, which will continue to inflate. Can you sell your MAC for a new Kidney, or Chemotherapy if you need it? PC, MAC Mini, MAC, Computers are Disposable in the purist sense. They are already way outdated by the time you buy the latest and greatest. MAC Mini's, and iPads are certainly disposable as Bic lighters and you know it! Remember the Commercial, "I just bought this one!"? Are you seriously going to trash your Retirement Fund, and Juniors College Fund, to get the latest-and greatest- Outdated MAC every year? It is a free Country-knock yourself out! Some of us preserve the right to choose a different path- again part of that free Country stuff. It means that we have the right to be insufferably stupid if we want! You have that right too, everyone does! It is part of our freedom of choice, even though it irritates you to no end-GOOD! That is what it is there for! I would rather crash a PC, than operate a MAC. Why?, because of your endless /obssessive /obstinant / incessant/ nauseating/ attitude about MACs, and for no other reason. I would rob a Bank, and get a MAC already, if but for your attitude! Thank-You for keeping me out of jail! Congradulations-you have convinced me NEVER to go near a MAC again. Why?, because it would please you! For anyone else, I have not dismissed your suggestions. I thought that was clear. So What if I destroy the Registry anyways by playing with it! If I re-install the OS anyways, it won't make any difference! They are disposable! A Recycling Bin isn't part of a Computer, they ARE a Recycling Bin. Maybe it is just time to take out the trash, and stop worshipping a Trash Can for crying out loud! Aren't you tired of Recycling the same old Trash? I certainly am! Do you have any NEW material, and I mean NEW!
  3. Yeah, the problem with that, is that I am looking straight at those Registry Files. I am looking straight at these specific Registry Errors, and there is no reference to iTunes or QuickTime in the Registry Files containing these Errors. No Program Files for iTunes or QuickTime, and no References to iTunes or QuickTime in the Registry. How does the Registry look for a Program associated with these extensions, when there are no References in the Registry to these Programs (iTunes,QuickTime). The only References in these Registry Errors are: 1. User Default 2. Windows Live Movie Maker Asset/REG_BINARY/ zero length binary value 3. WMP11,AssocFil/REG_NONE/ zero length binary value If WLMMA and WMP11 Programs had been Deleted, but the References to these Programs had mistakenly remained in the Registry, then the Registry would have References to search for missing Programs (WLMMA,WMP11). How can a Registry search for a missing Program, if no Reference to that Program exists in the Registry. I don't see iTunes, or QuickTime up there. How would the Registry even know that they are missing, if there is no Reference to either in the Registry itself? I don't see: 1. iTunes/REG_BINARY/ zero length binary value -or- 2. QuickTime/REG_NONE/ zero length binary value How would the Registry know to look for either one? Where is the memory of these even stored in the Registry? There is no reference to either in any one of these Registry File Errors. Is the Registry looking for a blank? Based on what, and in reference to what? Installing iTunes in the first place created this problem. Do I re-install, and uninstall hoping that it will not create even more of the same type of Registry Errors? iTunes has already created enough damage, why in the World would I want to give it another crack at the bat? What are you suggesting, that I start making my own whip? I am not the masochist here.
  4. Not ready to make my own whips. If anyone is interested, I did search an Apple iTunes Website. Searched for means to remove iTunes Files from Windows 7 System. Followed instructions. Searched in Program Files Folder, Common Files Folder, Program Files (x86) Folder, and Windows Folder. Searched for the following Files to Delete: 1. C:Program FilesBonjour 2. C:Program Files (x86)Bonjour 3. C:Program FilesCommon FilesApple 4. C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesApple 5. C:Program FilesiTunes 6. C:Program Files (x86)iTunes 7. C:Program FilesiPod 8. C:Program Files (x86)iPod 9. C:Program FilesQuickTime 10. C:Program Files (x86)QuickTime 11. C:WindowsSystem32QuickTime 12. C:WindowsSysWOW64QuickTime 13. C:WindowsSystem32QuickTimeVR 14. C:WindowsSysWOW64QuickTimeVR These Files could NOT be found on the C Drive, they are not there. For those suggesting Re-installing QuickTime, or iTunes, both of these were already completely deleted. Re-installation would have been a futile endeavor. All of these Files were searched for in the 32-bit System 32 Folder, as well as 64-bit SysWOW64 Folder. Just where in the hell is this: .aif OpenWithProgidsQuickTime.aif DATA coming from? Ditto for .aifc.aiff.m4a.m4b.m4p.m4v? These are only listed in the Registry-nowhere else. Registry Cleaners claim to Repair, but apparently NOT Repairing the Registry. There is no Program that continues to re-install the same Registry Errors when Repaired, the Registry Errors just aren't being fixed! Current System is Windows 7 64 Bit Home Edition, purchased June 2010. It looks like a 2009 Version of Windows 7. Not sure if it came with WMP11 or WMP12. Either WMP12 was downloaded as Update, or WMP12 Update was downloaded. Either downloaded from Microsoft Website. Current Version is WMP 12. Did try to RESTORE prior to WMP 12 (update?), but RESTORE point occurs after installation of WMP12. Registry still shows a WMP11,AssocFilREG_NONEzero length binary value. If WMP12 is an Update of WMP11, removing all Files associated with WMP11 would be suicide-OR NOT?
  5. My Fault if everyone thought that advice was not worthy, except one,"Get A MAC!"-Arrrrgghh! Of course advice is worthy, but they all seem like "Hail Mary" passes to me. Seem like going to an extreme, using a Sledge Hammer instead of a Scapel. Hey, Monkeys find Sledge Hammers very useful. This Monkey would just like to explore other options before going for the drastic and dramatic, not eliminate these options, just put them a little further down the list. Why do I get the funny feeling that it would take a Rocket Scientist, with the information that I have provided, 5 minutes to correct these Errors without the painfull drastic measures of Re-installing the entire OS? Why do I get the feeling that it would only take a 30 second Update from Microsoft, and "Bloop" Errors are gone. What you guys are proposing, to resolve the problem, is the equivalent of amputating my leg. I have kind of grown attached to that leg. Forgive me for wanting to explore other options first, if no good-fine, leg is gone. I am going to have to break down, and spend the Fifty Bucks to send that E-mail to Microsoft, and ask for assistance to fix Registry Errors that Microsoft created. One: It is probably less painful, and less risk than other suggestions here-Two: It is probably the only way to make sure. Other suggestions are worthy, but just guessing. Could create more problems than they solve. To answer your question: these particular Registry Errors do severely affect Computer Performance. I Repair these Registry Errors, I play on the Computer approx. 2 hours. I then notice Computer dramatically slowing down, I check to find these exact same Registry Errors have returned. Repair them again, Computer returns to normal. Can't believe that I am the only one with Registry Errors due to download of Windows Media Player 12, and download of Windows Live Movie Maker Asset-which is bundled with Microsoft Live Essentials. Maybe MLE has just got to go- Uninstall-if that is what it takes. Still, would like to find alternative!
  6. Never said I was a "Technological Monkey"! I am going to try and NOT be facticious, and ask that I be quoted properly. My exact description was "Novice Monkey with a Computer". You can understand the slight discrepancy. Monkey see, Monkey do. From what this Monkey knows, there is ONLY one set of specific commands and steps that will specifically address these specific Errors. Don't need the whole Book, just a couple pages. Take a look at my first Memo, it is a complete desciption (in detail) of the Problem/DATA/and Registry Keys affected. This includes the File Extension, OpenWithProgids, with the three items in question: User Default, Windows Live Movie Maker Asset/REG_BINARY/zero length binary value, WMP11 AssocFil/REG_NONE/zero length binary value. The same thing repeats for each Registry File: .aif/.aifc/.aiff/.m4a/.m4b/ .m4p/.m4v. There is only ONE solution, with specific steps, to THESE specific Errors. DO NOT need a College Degree in the Secrets of Life, Universe, and Everything of Computer Science! Just need the exact, step by step instructions to address these specific Errors ONLY! The first American in Space was a Monkey, we beat the Rocket Scientists, we are perfectly capable of following step by step instructions so long as they are accurate. I offer Specific Information, in detail, of exactly what the problem is. Does it look like I am playing around? Where do you think that I got the information from, and how did I get it? By very carefully playing around in the Registry, and not changing anything untill I have verifiable accurate step by step instructions. Its a Computer for Christ's sake, not some holy passage from the Koran or Holy Bible. Damn thing is practically disposable as a Bic Lighter, enough of the holier-than-thou Registry. Yesterday I Repaired 7 of the same Registry Errors, today I Repaired the same 7 plus two more. Does it sound like I have the time to sit down and study the War And Peace version of Computer Registry Science? My Computer will melt down before I could repair anything. Do the words, "Practical Application" mean anything to anybody. This Monkey is bailing water as fast as he can, and in the middle of this you want to spend a few Months designing a better Boat. Send my Computer to one of the Rocket Scientist here, where is here? Fine, I will pay the fifty bucks to correct Registry Errors caused by Microsoft download from their Website-since they are incapable of correcting Errors that they themselves have caused. Christ, I even did 3/4 of the work in locating specifically where these Errors are, and no-one can provide the few precious steps to correct these Errors. It's Like running a Marathon, and coming within a few inches of the finish line only to be yanked back a mile-NUTS!
  7. Where do I begin Bob? You see, I am not a Rocket Scientist with a Masters Degree in Computer Science. I am a Monkey Novice with a Computer, who pays Microsoft to hire Rocket Scientists (with Masters Degrees in Computer Science) to design Computer Programs for him (Windows 7). This Monkey purchases these Computer Programs; because, this Monkey finds it inefficient to spend an ungodly fortune earning a Masters Degree in Computer Science, thereby designing his own Computer Programs. You call that having an attitude, I call it being practical with my own needs and my own time. You say, "Get a MAC", for the upteenth time. I say it doesn't fit my budget nor address my needs efficiently, for the upteenth time. That is not having an attitude, that is just being sick of hitting the Repeat button on this issue ad-nauseum. Even a Monkey understands the futility of trying the same thing over, and over again ("Get a MAC"!) expecting a different result. This Monkey just doesn't understand how the big bad Rocket Scientist, with a Masters Degree in Computer Science, just doesn't get this. Surely, the Rocket Scientist is smarter than the Monkey, then how about acting like it! This Monkey has no desire to go messing around in an OS, that he has no idea what he is doing. Perhaps it is because he has been left with no other option (Read Previous Memos). So, this Monkey re-installs his OS, downloads his WMP12 Update to his re-installed WMP11 (From Microsoft Website), and ends up with EXACTLY the same Registry Errors that he started out with! What was that again, oh-yeah, doing the exact same thing expecting a different result the second time around. The Monkey being smarter than the Rocket Scientist? Don't be that guy-Bob! You want to throw out the Baby with the Bathwater by reinstalling the OS, this Monkey thinks that the holier than thou Rocket Scientist can do better than that! If you don't understand the concept of efficiency, ask Charles Darwin about Evolution, and the extinction of the Dinosaurs. Waste not-Want not! Why not try the short Route, screw up the Registry, then re-install the OS? Why are you against even trying? You think that Monkeys can't follow Route, or maybe it is the big bad Rocket Scientist who is afraid he can't! Microsoft says that this Monkey is on his own to fix his Windows 7, this Monkey has just one task to perform. You say a four year Masters Degree in Computer Science is required, to accomplish this Task before this Monkey can go back to playing with his Computer. This Monkey thinks that you are -NUTS!
  8. Look, I have nothing against MAC's. Not really interested in the portable MAC's, Desktop MAC's cost twice as much as PC. If you have the money, go for it; but, don't expect everyone else to be loaded enough to be able to afford a MAC. I respect MAC's for their higher quality, especially the Video Processing-outstanding! It had better be if it cost twice as much as PC's equivalent. The best that I can afford is a modular PC, that I can upgrade as finances allow. When I hit the Lottery, I will buy a MAC in a heartbeat! Don't expect me to hold my breath untill then! You do realize that we live in a Country that is still trying to recover from a Recession, with a Government that is 14 Trillion Dollars in debt. Luxury items, like MAC's, if everyone could afford it-it would no longer be a Luxury Item. Sure, everyone should buy a Lamborgini, or a BMW if they want higher quality. Wallet says NO-to Lamborgini,BMW, and MAC! Wallet has final say, no matter how much I might agree with you! Take it up with the Wallet, don't shoot me-I'm just the messenger. I wish you better luck than I have had! I haven't seen anyone win an arguement with my empty Wallet yet, it doesn't seem to care about the luxurious quality of a MAC System. MAC just isn't for everyone, I will have to regrettably live with that, can you? I can't even afford to be envious of a MAC System, I promise you that I will work on that! While that work is in progress, I would appreciate not hearing for the ten-thousandth time, "Get A MAC"! It is kind of redundant having to go through this explanation ten-thousand times! It solves absolutely "Nothing"! Please tell me that this isn't all that you have?
  9. Uninstall might work, but still left with Windows Media Player 11, with Zero Length Binary Value left under same Registry Files. I believe that my WMP 11 was recently updated (via Microsoft) to WMP 12. Something must have screwed up in the Registry when Update was Downloaded. Unable to get through Microsoft Customer Support, MSC claims Product I.D. has expired (W.T.H.-just had Windows 7 installed 6 Months ago!). Microsoft was source of Download, and Registry Errors. Microsoft caused problem, but Firewalls me from seeking solution from them-nice! Registry Cleaners won't solve these particular Registry Errors, no guidance from Microsoft on how to specifically Edit Registry (only way left to correct) without screwing it up. Doubts?-what possible source of Guidance even exists? Fifty Bucks just to send an E-mail to Microsoft, just to ask for assistance in fixing Registry Errors that Microsoft created with their Download! Tell me this isn't a Government Operation! Anyone know what a Zero Length Binary Value is in a Registry File? I presume that it is some kind of an Error, like a Registry Code didn't get Downloaded and installed properly. Wouldn't it make more sense to get the proper Registry Code, and insert into Registry File? Ah-Hell! Microsoft would still have to be the source of the Registry Code for WMP11 and WLMMA, as well as guidance on how to insert without screwing up the Registry-NUTS! Another fine mess from Microsoft Customer Support, CATCH-22 on Steroids!
  10. Perhaps I should have stressed that I am not a Computer Rocket Scientist. Actually, WLMMA shortcut was sent to Recycle Bin. The problem is, that endless Repair of these Registry Errors is for not. They simply come back within a few hours. Have tried endless Repair of these Errors by both CCleaner and iolo Registry Repair. Some Programs keeps on looking for, and re-installing these Registry Errors. According to the Registry Files, these two Programs are Windows Live Movie Maker, and Windows Media Player 11. Both of these Programs have Zero Length Binary Values under Registry Files (.aif/.aifc/ .aiff/.m4a/.m4b/.m4v/.m4p). WLMMA, I believe is bundled with Windows Live Program. Don't know how to edit Registry, get Red Flags with any attempt to do so. So, what to do, leave Registry Errors? Registry Cleaners won't fix the problem, what will? Edit the Registry? Need step by step guidance so that I don't screw it up. Install correct Registry Binary Value for both Programs? Again, how to do this without screwing up the Registry? No guidance from Microsoft Customer Support, Self Help on Windows 7 useless. Something had to go wrong when these Programs were installed by Microsoft. Left stranded trying to Repair by myself. Desperately need any help and guidance. Not going to get it from Microsoft.
  11. Update-exact same Registry Errors are still returning. The Problem appears that the Registry Binary Value for Windows Live Movie Maker Asset, and the same for Windows Media Player 11, are missing. Obviously, the Registry is going to have to be edited, not sure how to do this. Registry Cleaners are obviously not going to do the job. Would it be better to try and locate these Binary Values, and insert? Anyone have any idea how to do this? If editing is the only solution, which part do you edit, and how do you do this?
  12. Update! It just goes to show you that you need to know what you are shooting at-unless you end up like DonQuiote charging Wind Mills. Do appreciate the input-keep it coming! Used REGEDIT.EXE-viewed .aif/.aifc/.aiff/.m4a/.m4b/.m4p/.m4v Registry Files. Opened each one with OpenWithProgids. Three Entries appeared: 1. User Default 2. Windows Live Movie Maker Asset/REG_BINARY/zero-length Binary value 3. WMP11,Associated File/REG_NONE/zero-length Binary value Located Windows Live Movie Maker Asset via START/All Programs. Moved WLMMA to Recycle Bin. Will wait to see if Registry Errors return. If they do, will Restore WLMMA. WLMMA still shows up on Registry, might need to Delete WLMMA from Registry-any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Could really screw up Registry, need to be careful. Leave it alone, Registry continues circling the Toilet anyways. Any suggestions for this Brain Salad Surgery, before I perform a frontal Lobotomy on my Computer?
  13. This is an update to an earlier problem. Still have 10 Registry Errors that still persist, despite all attempts to Repair. Using PC Windows 7 System, and using CCleaner as well as iolo Registry Repair. Registry Errors are Repaired, but re-appear within a few hours. Computer Speed severely diminished when Errors re-appear. This is progressively getting worse. Ignoring these Errors is not working. DATA references designations for types of Music Files, possibly MAC System designations (.aif/.aifc/.aiff/.m4a/.m4b/.m4p/.m4v). QuickTime references another MAC Program for storage of Audio/Video info. Six Months ago, downloaded iTunes Program by mistake, deleted Program, these Errors remain. iTunes is MAC based- I believe. This is beginning to look like residual unused File Extensions from uninstalled (not quite) MAC iTunes Program from Windows 7 System. Can't seem to find these affected Files on Computer, no matter what designation I use, I come up empty handed. Here is the info. one more time: INVALID OR EMPTY FILE CLASSIFICATION: DATA: 1. .aifOpenWithProgidsQuickTime.aif 2. .aifcOpenWithProgidsQuickTime.aifc 3. .aiffOpenWithProgidsQuickTime.aiff 4. .m4aOpenWithProgidsQuickTime.m4a 5. .m4bOpenWithProgidsQuickTime.m4b 6. .m4pOpenWithProgidsQuickTime.m4p 7. .m4vOpenWithProgidsQuickTime.m4v REGISTRY KEY: 1. Computer continues to progressively slow down severely everytime these Errors come back. Can no longer be ignored. Any suggestions for permanent Repair, would be greatly appreciated. Anyone with similar problems uninstalling iTunes? Is this the true nature of the problem? Where can I get help for this?
  14. Thanks for the info. Still don't understand how one determines actual Registry Errors from, "not Errors as such"? I presume that these Registry Entries are due to Internet Explorer 9 Beta Download, since the entries refer to Windows CurrentVersionExplorer? Certainly won't install Beta Programs in the future, but without user access-how do I uninstall this Internet Explorer 9 Beta. If you Downloadinstall Internet Explorer 9, will it be substituted for 9 Beta? Will 9 Beta be uninstalled as part of 9 intallation? The only start-up Program, that makes sense has to be Internet Explorer. I am using a Netgear USB wireless Reciever with a wireless Router, plus the Netgear installed Wizard-that couldn't have anything to do with these entries-could it?
  15. Currently using CCleaner to correct Registry Errors. CCleaner corrects 10 Errors, but they stubbornly come back the next day. Continue to correct, and save changes to Registry every day. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
