Unfortunately latest upgrade (I'm obliged to do that) to BigSur 11.2.3 break again the behavior ... so: 11.2.0 not working 11.2.1 working 11.2.3 not working In order to avoid the issue popping out every upgrade, I installed an MacOS Mojave (perfectly works) into a VMWare Fusion virtual machine on top of my BigSur resident MacOS ... but unfortunately the VM can't see the NAA (probably due to "virtualized" network environment)

Now PERFECTLY working with BigSur latest upgrade 11.2.2 ... Great! (my Java is v8 update 281)

Same issue here ... ISO2DSD not working with BigSur ... Application starts but I'm not able to "browse" files

MacOS BigSur 11.2.0 issue with NAA 3.5.5 ... is now solved with 11.2.1 I just did the upgrade and HQPDesktop to NAA communication seems ok ... 🥰

I've a second Mac still on Mojave and HQP-NAA is perfectly working ... I'll try to do troubleshooting on side NAA when managed by BigSur unit

Yep. NAA is seen from HQPD 3.25.6 via IPv4 ... I did a try with Pcm upsampled to DSD, DSD updampled to DSD and DSD native too ... same result HQPlayer.log

Any macOS Big Sur user with NAA? I just upgrade my MacBookPro from Mojave to BigSur ... HQP Desktop 3.25.6 doesn't work anymore with NAA I also tried HQP Desktop 4.0 just to double check and but no sound at all ... HQPD4.0 just show additional info (see below) Any clue?

Direct connection could be useful when source HQPD has two separate Ethernet interfaces one for "normal" network access (cable or wifi with DHCP server somewhere) and the other as a straight cable to NAA (catX or fiber optical). In my case I use a MacBookPro that reads audio files locally on SSD or from NAS by accessing home network via WiFi, then I use a straight Fiber Optical cable to send audio stream to NAA, Mac and NAA use very tiny 100-X media converters (3M Volition) that have the beauty to be powered by 5V provided by any USB port ...

Is there any guidance/suggestion to use HQP 3.25.6 with NAA by using a straight back-to-back cable? So no DHCP ... I did some experiment but I don't understand how to make it working with IPv4 and IPv6 too ... . HQPDesk runs on my Apple MacBookPro Mojave, NAA is running on a BeagleBoneBlack I sometimes see the NAA ... sometimes not Reboot, reload, turn on and off the card . I don't understand how to see the NAA in a stable manner . Any suggestion?

I experienced tons of laptop as a music sources in the past, from supercool ultrabooks to CAD workstations or gaming devices and all of them are suitable only when cpu usage is low, so HQP with complex filters will definitely force fans to run quickly ... I currently have a couple of Apple MacBookPro I7-2.2GHz (6 cores) and I can run just DSD128/ASDM7 (non EC) with fans at decent speed, DSD256 force fans at high speed and I experienced dropouts ...so I finally landed to a passively cooled I5-8400 that is capable to do DSD256/ASDM7 and cost 1/5 of any MacBookPro Maybe the next generation MacBookPro devices with Mx CPU could do the job ...

Is it true for DSD64 to DSD256 too? I mean, what's the minimum CPU suggested to run 256EC modulator with native DSD64 files? I'm currently running ASDM7/DSD256 with my I5-8400 in a passively cooled chassis, so I'm trying to understand if I could run EC modulators without changing the whole chassis

I'm interested to understand what should be a "decent" CPU setup to run that ... My current I5-8400 with Beaglebone NAA perfectly runs ASDM7/DSD256 with HQP3.25.6 ... I would like to move to EC/256 without spending a fortune

Where should I download latest Desktop 3.25.6 image for OSX/Linux? I just realized I'm still running 3.25.4

Yep, with a PCM DAC it's ok. I would like to find a way to use RadioParadise FLAC streaming with HQP "conversion"engine to DSD and the stream to DSD dac the flow. I don't know if HQP Desktop or Embedded 4.x can do the job.
