  1. Does any audiophile brand produce something like this that you can connect to either a headphone out or Pre out connection? I found one by Pro-Ject Phono box E BT but its seems like its not common in the US and only has BT version 2.1. I know Amazon has a bunch of cheap ones made by unheard of tech companies, was just wondering if any legit audiophile company had any similar. I am wanting to send a BT signal from my main system to my B&W P7s and Sennheiser Truwireless headphones so I can play the turntable while working.. wife is currently home full time b/c of the pandemic while i'm working from home.
  2. I use this chair and foot rest as well. A local HI FI shop uses them and i thought they were a comfortable and cheap option as a listening chair. I like it a lot!
  3. I own a pair of p5's that I got 2nd hand.. I wouldn't pay the $300 for them but for the $200 I paid, I really like them alot, especially for mobile use. I've used them on a plane and use them every day at work during lunch breaks... I think they are a fun listen with decent bass and definitely a little on the warm side of sound signature. I run them straight out of my ipod.
  4. Well I added to my Head Fi collection a sennheiser HD 650 and a fiio e9 headphone amp.. very happy with both.
  5. i didn't know that it wasn't recommended, but i have no issues with running the MSII through the HUB at all.
  6. I agree with it being a usb power issue. when I got my HRT MSII, i was having issues with static only it was major not just an annoying buzzing, i picked up a self powered usb HUB that has its own wall wart PS and I plugged the MSII into the that and the hub into my laptop. completely eliminated the noise.
  7. I would also look at Jamo, since Klipsch bought them they have discontinued a lot of speakers and vanns has a tendency to get them.. I would look at the C600 and C800 series bookshelves. I know they recently had the old C803 on clearance between 4-500 which normally retail for 800.
  8. I don't run it correct, but i have done some research on it.. b/c of the processor in the nicer NAS's it has the processing power to run squeezecenter the NAS i use has 800mhz marvell chip and 256 MB ram which is going to make it a lot faster than using tiny squeeze center and a usb drive. however, I don't know the ways to get squeeze center on to the NAS since I don't use it. if you look at the specs on Qnaps website and look at the software specs, it does show what they call a Qpkg that will allow you to run SBS. and yes the Qnap and synology NAS's are just bays, but with as cheap as storage space is these days its not a big deal. What nice about this particular single bay NAS is that it does have a one touch USB back up so you can back up from PC to NAS or NAS to USB drive if you don't want to deal with raid back up in a two drive system.
  9. I would say go with an NAS. Pick up a decent one, like one from Qnap or Synology. I have a TS-110 from Qnap, and I love it, and while I don't have a squeezbox to run it on, I believe it will run squeezecenter on it so you don't have to have another computer running at all times. if you go just usb you will not be able to run squeezecenter off of the router and will have to use a computer.
  10. While it may not be Hi-res I still say this is a step in the right direction. I think most audio enthusiasts who care about lossless are going to be thrilled with FLAC downloads, and there are a lot more enthusiasts than actual audiophiles.
  11. Well I picked up a Belkin powered USB hub today and it completely eliminated the static i was getting while multitasking on the laptop. so if anyone has had the same issue i would pick up cheap ($20) powered usb hub.
  12. I am currently using an HRT MSII out of my HP laptop and If I just use it for music listening I have very few issues, however If I try and multi task on the lap top (ie use firefox at the same time) I get a static type of sound that starts to go out through the DAC. I'm guessing its probably some sort of internal noise. It will also occasionally happen when its changing tracks to the next song on Media Monkey. I'm using an Audioquest 1.5m Forest USB cable and I've tried different USB ports and had my wirless mouse plugged and unplugged and it doesn't make much difference. I've also tried a shorter USB cable and that didn't make any difference either.. my next try is to use a selfpowered USB hub to take the powering of the DAC off of the laptop and onto the HUB. any ideas if this will clean it up... anyone else having this issue and how they fixed it would be great as well.
  13. Those are some nice looking cans. I've heard quite a bit of good about the XB700 and thought about picking a pair up for my limited hard rock and R&B/rap listening as the price is definitely workable. Those Denons are absolutely gorgeous.
  14. Right now I just use Sennheiser HD 280 plugged into either my HP Laptop or a Music Hall A 15.2, but i'm looking at possibly getting some Audio Technica ATH-AD700
