  1. Which VNC app are you using ? There are many different ones on the app store... which is the best ? I'm using VNC mocha lite but it's not fun with the virtual mouse.
  2. waow ! Lynx and RME cards are pretty good references, as I thought to buy one of it just to get a "cleaned" spdif connection. I thought about the fireface, for example. If you suggest that a Prism Orpheus even don't make the work better (as an interface, I mean) it seems that the Bridge is a good solution, and really elegant because it needs no extra cable at all.
  3. You are talking about Hiface Evo, isn't it ? The first hiface was told to be good, and in France some are waiting for testing the new one. It would be great to test all of these interfaces. I have two systems in preparation, both start with a computer and I have to find a digital transport and a dac.
  4. In fact my dac is able to carry 24/96 ; although I don't have much 24/96 music I'll take an advice able to get with it. I'll try Halide Design Bridge, Diverter, INT202 as I know it's possible to me. I don't know if the Wavelenght can be found in France.
  5. Ah, ok. I'll have a look at that, thank you. Have you got an opinion on the toher products ? You think the wavelenght will be the best ?
  6. Well, I felt when listening there was no advantage to use the DAC2 instead of going directly into the USB entrance from my preamp, whereas a drive in SPDIF was better, which was surprising. I thought that the Weiss which use a PLL to reject jitter could be really good as a dac (because it may reject jitter juste before the DAC circuit) and not so as a Firewire/SPDIF interface. Does the wavelenght make upsampling ? I wasn't sure that was good.
  7. Nobody has ever compared Halide Design Bridge to Diverter or Legato ? I've read something about that Halide Design Bridge would be better than Hiface. But there are the others...
  8. Hello First forgive my english ; I'm juste a poor lonesome froggy french and will make mistakes regularly. I use a totally digital system with active digital loudspeakers so that I don't need a DAC anyway. I use iTunes as player and a MacbookPro (soon a new Macmini). I have to find the best USB or Firewire or Ethernet to SPDIF converter to get my source as high end as possible. To present me a few further, when I'm searching an audio product I have to believe in the technical specifications, and then have to be convinced by the sound... and then, I'm ok to spend money for it. Just as everybody, I suppose. I'm afraid expensive cables begin to be boring to me now, as an example. I can't stand using 1200$ digital cables... but I used to. I'm now using a Zardoz which is a modified AirportExpress ; but I'm searching a new solution not to be limited to 16/44 and I feel the results could be better than now, because I've compared the Zardoz with mechanic drives which were better in fact. I'm happy and impressed that professionnal men can talk here about their products without any bad feeling. It's really interesting to read you comparing different technical approaches. So I didn't post in a precedent topic to be able to talk about different products. I'd like to know what would you think about the best USB SPDIF converter on the market, without considering the price. I think about Halide Design Bridge, Diverter, Legato... I know there are other ones too. I tried a Weiss DAC2 as a digital converter (Firewire in, SPDIF out) and was not convinced. I can consider too Firewire or Network solutions, but I have to obtain a SPDIF out. Which solution would you think to be the best one ?
