yes. u are right. on and off, I just face "CPU performance not satisfy". I am considering a I7 4785T with a T (for low power). is this recommended ?

my audiopc I3 with 8 gb ram Asus H97m-e with 2 x PPAV4. with JPlay 6.1a using singxer usb-spdif in KS mode with windows 8.1. I can play this wit foobar2000. when I run bug head 7.12 SP5, it just crash. So I run infinity blade 7.12 SP5, select Asio Jplay. but there is no sound . can I know why ?
  3. I took the pain to read thru this forum and the notes here helped me to resolved the control PC wireless issue and I was able to go Minimal server mode. all my doubts abt foobar and etc is solved. since my audiopc is in core mode, I wonder if the control pc in minimal server vs Core mode has any sound improvements ?
  4. I use a control and audio PC approach. the audio PC (I3 with Asus H97 mono, 8gb ram) is optimized with 2 x PPA OCXO clock and HDPLEX LPS (not sure if JS-2 will improve this department). on control PC, I am using a NUC 5ppyh with LPS for proof of concept on dual PC. indeed it sounds nice when I switch from win 8.1 to 2012 in gui. however on gui mode, I lost wifi as NUC doesnot hav the driver. I wonder if anyone tried using a USB to ethernet convertor such as Linksys to provide another ethernet port ? ps : It took me really long time to read from 2013, which I gave up.
  5. I am basically using PP OCXO for audio PC with 2012 R2 in core mode. for control PC, as a matter of experiment, I used Intel NUC 5ppyh with LPS on 2012 R2 in GUI mode. for best sound quality, I hook blujeans cat 6a to audio PC and configure a fix IP. my problem is the NUC Wireless does not have a 2012 driver and I am forced to use a mouse to control foobar2k. I wonder how can I get around this ? (although a h170 mobo with dual ethernet port would save the day, I am refrain to minimize spending on control PC). is it possible to use a USB-gigabit ether such as USB3GIG linksys to work as second ethernet in 2012R2 gui mode ?
  6. I am using 2012 R2 running core mode. I would like to use foobar for playback. but problem is the wireless is not detected. I have foobarcon on my android. how do I control the playback ?
  7. me too. when i disable GUI and goes to core mode, I cant go backt to GUI mode. been trying google recommendation but to no avail.
  8. well the tweak that I have done maintains the KS. its really amazing sounding. I have achieved transparency like never before. so I quickly changed the control PC to server 2012 in GUI mode as I needed to foobar only with Jplay. does anyone use control PC in core mode too ?
  9. every change affects the sound. I put the bridge to linear power supply, with proper filter and it further improves the sound. now that my audiopc is hibernate mode, does it help if I remove the GUI mode from the audiopc ? now that i hav gui mode, if i remove gui and move to core, will it remove my ddc driver ?
  10. I own a MSB Analog but with basic option of usb 2. Even i m not listening to usb2 as i found better connection then usb 2, which is becoming old tech. I hav a dual ocxo clock on CAS and wonder how good is renderer implementation. I dont fancy aurender as I think their power is room for improvement. So i wonder how msb implement the stream to I2S?
  11. Thank you for your reply. I am planning my control pc build now. BTW, I noticed in your sig that you have the PPA V3. I am going to get the V4 for my audio pc shortly. > I am using V4 now for the USB out. I am also using OCXO for my H97M-E mobo. I would love to hear your thoughts on the V3. V3 or V4 is just a difference in cable implementation. > Did you have another USB card before? > have not used any other. How are you powering it? > I have powered it with a variety of linear DC power supply, including teradak, hdplex and self made DIY power supply using ultra low noise reguators such as TPS7A4700 and LT 3042 (diyinhk). at the end, I found the LT 3042 board is best for both the USB and mobo clock. What riser card or cable are you using? I am still using the USB from the mobo so I hope the V4 will be a big improvement. > if you are using mobo USB, that will be BIG upgrade in sound performance. try a good power supply such as paul hynes, teddy or uptone.
  12. I do have a control PC which I have swapped its supply from IC reg to discreet components in shunt , i.e. using On semicond BJT. different power supply changes the sound too on dual PC setup.
  13. I always find that its difficult or practically none to tweak the nas for better sound. It can also be limiting in upgrade as compared to USB. This contributes to my reluctance to adopt nas. Furthermore msb is quite proprietary in their implementation and that means costly upgrades. Inam a little lost.
  14. I guess you have compared using aurender + USB to the USB2 quad vs the renderer and still the renderer wins ? would it be beneficial if you use LPS to the NAS ?
