  1. Well my W4S Dac2 arrived today...Initial impressions is that it is very sturdily built and nicely engineered, as mentioned before by others. Straight out of the box connected up via to 2 Y splitters (RCA) into 2 Quad 909 Stereo Power-Amps in a Bi-amped configuration, CD output displayed automatically to 44.1khz Coax (as you would expect). The sound was superior in everyway to my older well respected UK Beresford (well burnt in) Caiman Dac - which I really like the signature sound of and still do. Spent a little while setting the output on the (PC Player) J.River to the newly installed W4S USB driver. Having previously installed Asio4all v2. - A few teasing problems on the way (my stupid fault), but a reset as mentioned on 6moons review got me back on course inconjunction with changing some other settings in J.River and all was well with playing Hi-Res files...Conclusion like others who own this Dac it is great value for money a Killer value Hi-end Dac for sure. All in all I am extremely happy with it...Roll on 200+ burn in hours! Note: My main concern when purchasing this Dac was the report of sibilance that I had read on another forum (and I think here). I was now trying (really hard) to listen out for this sssshhh sound on a few tracks that I am very familiar with that it might sssshow up...Maybe it's my ears but I just couldn't detect it at all! 2. My first post...Felt the need to sign up when seeing this thread - as maybe of some help. I did contact EJ reguarding this topic above BIAMPING (19/9/2010)... My Question was... "Hi I am very interested in buying your DAC-2 (From Item audio - UK) which also acts as a preamp...My question is that I have 2 Number stereo Quad 909 Power amps...Will your DAC-2 be compatible if I Bi-amp from the Dac-2 directly to both my Quad 909 Stereo power amps?....any impedance problems? Quad 909 link...... http://www.quad-hifi.co.uk/model.php?sector_id=2&range_id=3&model_id=12&content=3#details Many thanks Kind regards" His answer was... "Hello *****, The DAC-2 shouldn't have any issues driving both power amps. You will have to use "y" cables to do this, but shouldn't be a problem. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Thank you, EJ Sarmento" I went ahead and ordered a Dac2 upon EJ's advice...when it arrives I will let you know if all is well. Cheers Dac Boy (UK)
