  1. Agree. Recent updates certainly improved performance. Even iPad app WiFi isn’t having as many drops or hangs as in the past.
  2. I would expect the “feature rich experience” is the huge umbrella of DSP that is available from the Roon Server. I personally have never enabled any of it. That along with other recommendations others have made in this forum will help to mitigate much of the traffic of concern.
  3. Is that the large (5x20mm) small or large (6.3x32mm) size?
  4. What do you currently use in your Grimm today? What do you mean, exactly, by "a nice boost"? Can you relate this to sonic qualities?
  5. Might be worthwhile ($) to ask Grimm if there's any possible chance doing so would make any difference.
  6. From my reading of responses on the Roon community site, it would appear that the backups do not envelop the software version code with them. Net: once you've moved forward, you cannot go back. Classic physics "arrow of time" applies to this software. I've other hardware that allows for using any number of old firmware. Yet with Windows systems, complete backups allow for their restoration, no matter their age. The caveat is you're subject to intermediate malware...
  7. I'm curious. How do you create a backup of an actual "build"? The backups offered in Roon appear to only capture the database and settings but not the underlying code. Do you have another server with license that you use for just this purpose?
  8. Lots of ink spilled lately about this product, especially on TAS. I'm always leery when that happens. And those hyping it never seem to be ones I've agreed with in the past.
  9. Seems the BACCH needs to have its own category under Equipment. Such a niche product and one that I'd more readily tend to categorize under the DSP umbrella, is a bit like a condiment in a meal. It would appear to alter our sense of what we're hearing (think MSG in food, accentuating attributes for our taste buds). I acknowledge that these are poor analogies. But my own "sense" is that we all differ in our ear/brain development. Whether we have a strong background in music, especially as musicians, or are just audiophiles who have educated sonic "palates", it eventually comes down to what we like. As with food, it might be more about dynamics or spatial representation or tonal accuracy or ... Personally, it might be interesting to try out this technology. However, I've found no dealers out here in Northern California, either offering, let alone interested in it. And being someone who expects home trials with adequate setup and support, I'll leave this to the more adventurous among us.
  10. If it's sibilants of s's that Hans is noting in the particular Warnes' album, I've not heard it from my system, using the MU1. Maybe it's that my dCS DAC is better than whatever high end ones he's auditioned in the past with his reference systems.
  11. I'm interested in bringing an MU2 into my system to find out how it performs. Would directly feed into my Spectral equipment. Today, the MU1 feeding my dCS stack is great. I'll be surprised if the MU2's DAC will come close to what I'm hearing today. But being an audiophile comes with surprises. That's our lot in this life.
  12. Did one last check, but this time via the Gold ring. For whatever reason it showed an update available. Ran the update from the hardware. Worked. Web interface is now displaying 1.5.9
  13. Nope. Been running 1388 for a few days now. Fully up to date. My MU1 which I just rebooted to see if that might "kick" it into "finding" the update did not help. I suppose it might be some Grimm server that's not fully working on my behalf.
  14. Interesting. My MU1 is not offering this update.
  15. You're stating what's obvious. The video is not even a review, by any stretch of the imagination. When I watched it I'd considered that it might have been generated by some A.I. .
