  1. It is configured correctly. If I do not split the files using the bin+cue option both the flac and alac files play well. The problem appears when I try to both split and convert the file. Before I switched to Mac I uses medieval to split files. Do you know a software that can do the splitting on Mac? Thanks!
  2. If I just select and decode the output file is just one file. What I want is the file is to be splitted into the individual tracks.
  3. I tried converting just the flac file without the cue and the sound was okay, but it was not split, it was one file. I also tried Max, but it does only convert files with embeded cue sheets. It can't do files with separate cue sheet.

    XLD cue

I am trying to split a flac file + cue sheet and convert it to apple lossless. I'm using XLD. My procedure is go to File, then Open Raw PCM (bin+cue), select the cue file, then when prompted select the fac file, then when I have the list with the files to be split, I hit Decode. XLD does its thing, it converts the files one by one, but when I import them in iTunes and try to play them, all I hear is a buzz sound, no music. This happens with any file I try to split, flac or ape. The file is not corrupted, it plays well in vlc. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? Any other software suggestions?
  5. I got the Benchmark DAC1 and a pair of AKG K702. I plan to buy another pair of Sennheiser HD650 so that my wife join me, since the DAC1 has two headphone outputs. I have a question about the impedance of the two headphones and whether I can listen to both of them at the same time at similar volume levels. I've checked the specifications for the k702 here http://www.akg.com/site/products/powerslave,id,1082,pid,1082,nodeid,2,_language,EN,view,specs.html and it says Rated Impedance: 62 ohms. Sennheiser here http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/home_en.nsf/root/09969_headset says Nominal Impedance: 300 ohms. What is the difference between Rated and Nominal Impedance? How can I compare the sensitivity of the two headphones and how can I find out whether I can listen to both at once without having a large volume discrepancy. Thank you everyone for your input!
  6. You're right dead on! That was it. Order matters. Thanks a lot! What software do you use to put the images together in a pdf file?
  7. I did that. Now it appears under the Music section but it appears as a separate album. It is not included in the album together with the songs and if I just go into the songs album, the pdf is left out. I went through all the option pages and every name is exactly similar. Any idea? Did you actually got it to show up in the album together with the music files?
  8. I tried it this way. I dragged it into the library. I appeared under Books. I changed the Artist, Album, Genre and Year to match to that of the music album. the only difference under info was the name of the pdf. But still, the file did not appear in Music in album. I would be nice to have them all in one place, at least in the itunes library if not in the same folder, so that when I listen to a particular album to be able to go to the covers from that album, without having to search in books. Any ideas? Thanks!
  9. So what is the method you mentioned?
  10. Do you have any idea in what folder the pdf might be? It is not in the folder where the music files are. When I added the pdf sellected all tracks and I added it to the whole album.
  11. That's not a bad idea. I've tried it and it works. The only problem is, how do I view all the images in the pdf? Because it only shows the first image?
  12. I've decided to convert my huge flac library into apple lossless to be able to use iTunes to its full potential. I use XLD. I tell it to put the converted files into the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder from where iTunes will automatically add them to iTunes library. Smooth so far but I've got one problem with Album art that, after much reading on forums I wasn't able to solve. In XLD under Metadata I have setup "Automatically add tags if possible", "Embed cover art images into files", and "Load following files in the same folder as cover art" and "Don't overwrite already embedded images" Here's the problem. I have albums with two or three covers, like front.bmp and back.bmp, but only one cover, usually the front cover appears in iTunes under artwork. I would like to keep all of them. Sometimes I have 20 pages of artwork and I would like too keep them all, but I've found no folder at all with any art work. And since iTunes changes the folders around with any change file info, I can't see how I could move the artwork around without making a mess. Thanks in advance for your input!
  13. Thank you guys! You are solid gold. I was not aware of XLD and the possibility to convert my whole library automatically. I initially was resilient because I have 5000+ albums 95% of which are in flac and to do that manually would take forever. My music is organized in folders by styles, composers/ artists, albums. Will XLD replace the flac with apple format and keep the same folder structure? Thanks again!
  14. So, in your opinion I should be able to use vlc to fed my dac? If these softwares do the job, then what is the advantage of paying for Pure Music, for example, if the only thing that I use the software for is to feed digital data to the dac? Thanks!
