After reading the FAQ section and studying numerous (differing) opinions I'm confused about how to proceed building a computer based audio system.
We have a SONOS and would like all our music off a hard drive. The computer could be 6' away from the Wifi/SONOS and DAC/amp.
Was wanting to upgrade our old PC w/ a new one to play newer games but am getting the vibe that a mac mini is the way to do digital home audio.
The plus I guess is a mac mini would use less watts vs just a PC since the PC could then hibernate?
So, is it worth getting the mac mini on top of a new PC (DELL 9100) as it would consume a lot less electricity playing music about 8 hours a day (and be a better way to do digital audio
