  1. Well, it was very simple, all I had to do was disable volume control from preferences/configure/MPD/volume control>set from "software" to "disabled". Now we are in business :-)
  2. Thanks a lot, I will try tomorrow the on/off trick and if that doesn't work I ll email Tim :-)
  3. Hi, I bought my Raspberry Pi3 not very long ago for the sole purpose of streaming music to my dac. After the first awkward moments it works fairly well with the Archphile bistro, but It has its disadvantages and I wanted to try moode too. Well, I managed to load it on a sd card, it seems to function too, the gui is really nice btw, but no sound comes out of my speakers. To be sure, the dac (Lhlabs Sfi) seems to recognize it, I hear a thud when it starts playing which is a good sign, it even displays the correct sampling rate, the gui starts counting, meaning that something is going on, but no sound.
  4. Well, it is not. Vi Dac is just the new name of the Geek Soul, which was nothing but a Geek Pulse Xfi and a Geek LPS in the same, newly designed case. That being said, I don't like the new case (it looks like something Darth Vader would own) and the components slingshot has up for sale are smaller and more versatile (in the case of the LPS4, which can power up to 4 components I believe).
  5. Sure, but...The wavelength is little but not portable, by any stretch if the imagination. And it costs something like $ 900, right? Στάλθηκε από το GT-I9300 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk
  6. I heard one at a friend's once. It was the Quatro Stagioni, cant remember which interpretation now, but it had an extremely pronounced reverberation, almost as if the orchestra were playing in a well. A pleasant effect, but not realistic, I dont believe any real orchestra can sound like this.
  7. Hello there, how does the iFi nano sound now, after all these days of breaking-in? Does the Stoner still sound better in your ears? If yes I will give Stoner too a try.
  8. It exists, right here, for free and it is very easy to use. SONORE software enjoy...
  9. Hi fellows, this is my first post and thread on this forum. I am a newbie in the subject of PC music reproduction. Until now I have been listening to music from my Macmini via the built in sound card, which fed to my amplifier through the earphones output. A few weeks ago I bought a DAC from ebay and I am trying to find the best way to connect it to aforementioned macmini. I tried the hiface-borrowed it from a friend for a few days-and it sounded very good indeed, but had to give it back. Now,since the mac has a firewire port I considered buying a cheap firewire interface, like the m-audio audiophile or something like that and feeding the dac from its spdif output. What is your opinion guys, do you thing such an interface would sound as an M2ech hiface? Oh yes, forgot to mention I am on a tight budget and any solution suggested should not cost far more than $120.
