  1. @ ron: if I had the problem in only one album, I would have called it. I was searching for Tom Waits, Jan Garbarek, Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, John Coltrane... All i get ist "Record not available". There is no possibility to buy music for the time.
  2. i am living in germany and all i can get is "Record not available"... best, Uwe
  3. @davidovada i bought a lot of highres files yesterday and tomorrow i got this offer... too late... But there are also some restrictions: i want to buy Officium Novum by Jan Garbarek & The Hilliard Ensemble (ECM, 24/96): Cet article n'est pas encore disponible en téléchargement dans votre pays (GERMANY) / This article is not available in your country yet (GERMANY) :-( Best regards, Uwe
  4. @ davidovada: I am very impressed - nice offers and nice site! Best regards, Uwe
  5. I got my M-DAC ten days ago and after the first listening i was disappointed - but some days of non-stop-playing later it's getting better and better. A lot of details, huge Soundstage, very good timing, deep bass, very "analog"... Now i am really satisfied. I think this type of organic capacitors needs a lot of burn-in-time. The M-Pax will be not only an PS upgrade, it will adds some analog inputs also and you can use your M-DAC as an analog + digital pre amplifier. There will be also an 24/192 galvanically isolated "transporter" in the future. The M-Pax and the transporter are branded as "Lakewest" - these are not audiolab products. Best regards, Uwe
  6. Hi Peter, that's the way John Westlake (Audiolab / Lakewest) will realise his new "24/192 transport": The USB transport is connect clock-locked to the DAC (Audiolab M-DAC) via two Optical connections (one for SPDIF DATA - galvanically isolated - and the second for clock lock) and an IR Bus link cable: http://www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/showthread.php?t=112125&page=16 Best regards, Uwe
  7. Hi koogook, if you want to go with the "transporter" for 24/192 you don't need something else (no hiface ore audiophilleo...). The PSU adds two more analog inputs - thats why you can use it as a simple pre amplifier too. Uwe
  8. The Transporter and a new PSU (M-PAX) for the MDAC are products from Westlake's own Brand "Lakewest". A Power Amplifier (class a) will follow... :-)
  9. Hi koogook, there will be a "24/192-Transport" for the MDAC in the future (designed by John Westlake). The Transport is connect Clock-locked to the MDAC via two Optical connections (One for SPDIF DATA - galvanicilly isolated - and the Second for Clock Lock) and an IR Bus Link cable: http://www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/showthread.php?t=112125&page=16 Best regards, Uwe
  10. I am using a brand new MacBook Pro (late 2011) and i also have "the clicking"... I think, its not only a problem with DSD files. John Westlake at pinkfishmedia.net: "I'm afraid your problem was caused by the EFI update. I have come across a handful of computers whose isochronous USB transfers were broken, ie. the packets occasionally arrived truncated at a power-of-2 lengths which wreaked a havoc in our USB Audio device by misrepresenting sample boundaries and the result was a nasty static on the output. Having met with this problem, I added a check in the software that can detect whenever there were any incomplete samples received and if so, reset the whole buffer and indicate error. This is sadly a USB host controller fault and it affects our USB Audio device just as any other - I have verified this on the affected computer using a different USB Audio chip. I would perhaps try connecting it through a USB hub as a last resort, otherwise I'm afraid you have to hope Apple will fix the issue soon." What can we do??? Uwe
  11. This is what John Westlake (audiolab) said about these clicks: "The "Clicking" your hearing via USB I suspect is due to USB transmission errors from your MAC Mini. A recent F/W change seems to have introduced the issue to the MAC Book Air - so I wonder if it’s the same case for the MAC Mini... This indicates a “USB framing error” - the MAC USB host controller is dropping USB frames - in the case of the Mac book Air - a recent Firmware update has introduced this issue... CDQ is receiving corrupted Data – theirs nothing it can do (but advise you of the issue). Most DAC users would not be aware - as they don’t have the hardware to indicate the error.... rather it is just "concealed" John"
  12. Hi hudja, you can ask the developer of the audiolab directly in this forum: http://www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/showthread.php?t=108045&page=50 You will get an answer very quickly. Uwe
  13. Hi Bill, the Audiophilleo supports Integer Mode (Audirvana, BitPerfect...), the JK doesn't (like all other M2Tech-based products). If you will stay with MacOS X 10.6, the Audiophilleo could be the better choice. Best regards, Uwe
  14. said something like this in the 60th: "The record player is the most important part of your system. If things get lost at the beginning you can't get them back at the end." I think all parts of a system are important - quality depends on the weakest part. But this is another discussion and out of topic ;-) Greetings from Berlin Uwe
