  1. I sent an email to HRT to see if they could help and almost immediately, CTO Kevin Halverson responded: The issue is very likely a behavior of the power management of the host (computer). There is a command line utility where the behavior can be modified. The utility is PMSET. You can avoid it by offloading the power task from the host by inserting a self (not bus) powered USB 2.0 HUB between the host and the device (Streamer). If the insertion of the HUB completely resolves the problem that would indicate that my assumption is correct. You can also force the host to stay awake by performing a task ever 15 - 30 minutes (perhaps open and then re-close a file) to prevent the computer from entering a low power state. Either will test is an adequate confirmation. It is a matter of both power and host attention. An asynchronous device must have nearly constant (every ms or 1/1000th of a second) attention from the host. The HUB will provide not only power but will provide an intermediary between it and the host. I prevented my system from entering Power Save mode, and the drop-outs ceased. Consider it solved. Thanks to HRT for some great, responsive customer support.
  2. I also have this exact problem. Has anyone tried to contact HRT?
