    Amarra 2.3

Hi all, sonicralph here. We do indeed monitor this board and we want to thank all of you for your comments, patience and understanding as we get through this transition to Amarra 2.3. If you're not already aware, there is a an updated release posted on our website for both Amarra and MINI, v2.3.1. This fixes the permissions problem that some folks were experiencing. Please note that the vast majority of our customers were not experiencing the issue. That said, there are a small number of folks that are still having issues and we're working with them to identify the cause and develop a solution. We also encourage you to report any issues with Amarra or MINI v2.3.1 and continue to provide your comments on sonic quality, the new UI, functionality (current and desired), stability, etc. to us at [email protected]. We are responding as quickly as we can. Remember, it's all about the music! Best, ralph schachter Sonic Studio LLC

    Amarra 2.3

Hi everyone, Thanks for your patience regarding the release of Amarra 2.3. The good news is it sound GREAT!!!!! As a reminder, the Amarra 2.3 and MINI 2.3 were released today. You can find the downloads at the following link: http://www.sonicstudio.com/amarra/amarrasupport.html Download and Launch your Amarra product and enter your Activation Code, Email address and current password in the spaces provided. If you don't remember your current password, please click on Send Password to avoid lockouts. When you click 'Activate' you will be asked to enter a new password. Enter a new, unused password up to 16 characters in length and click 'OK'. You should be all set from there. Some of you have had some licensing issues and I'd like to address them here. Please pass this in formation to those interested. We've seen 2 issues with licensing. 1) People are receiving 'Software Activation Error' messages. This seems to be a permissions problem. We know what the issue is and the fix, we thought it had already been fixed. The solution is in the attached file and is simple and fast to implement. a)in your Applications folder, select the Amarra folder and choose File > Get Info. In the Get Info window, if the Sharing & Permissions pane is not visible, click the disclosure triangle to show it. b)Click the lock icon, and enter your Mac user name and password. An administrator name and password is required to add or delete users and groups, change owners, or apply permissions to enclosed items. c)Make sure that all of the items in the Privilege column are set to Read & Write. d)Next, apply the same permissions to every item contained in the Amarra application folder by opening the action button/popup and choose “Apply to enclosed items.” e) Click on the lock to save the changes and re-launch Amarra, you should be all set from there. 2) If you are still having issues, your license may be temporarily locked out at the license or the IP level. If you are locked out, please send a message to [email protected] with your Activation Code and we will reset your license for you. If you are having any other licensing issues, please send us a note and we will be happy to help out. We appreciate everyone's patience in this and want to assure you that it will be worth it. The initial feedback has been fantastic on the sonic quality and the chic new look. Lastly - Attention G5 users!! We are going to make a release of Amarra only that will use your iLok for licensing. This will only be supported on Amarra and this will be the last release supported on the Power PCs. Please contact us at [email protected] if you are a G5 owner for more information. 4. No reason to make fun, harrypt and you don't have to create a playlist in iTunes first. To answer your questions 1) Playlist mode - you can add tracks to an Amarra playlist in a variety of ways. When the playlist button in on (blue), you can do either of the following: a) highlight tracks in iTunes and from the Amarra MINI Playlist pulldown menu, choose 'Open tracks from iTunes'. Click on the Amarra MINI play button to listen to your playlist or b) from the Amarra MINI Playlist Menu, Choose 'Open tracks from Finder' and choose the desired tracks from the resulting finder window. Click open to add them to your playlist. If you're using Amarra, make sure Autopilot is turned off or your playlist will load from the current track forward the specified number of tracks. 2) the set source menu items simply set the current music playback engine to Amarra (selected tracks), Playlist or iTunes. best sonicralph
  5. You are correct, Erwin, Amarra Junior is just $79 USD and is the same playback engine as MINI and Amarra. For 16/44 files you will experience the same superior sound quality in all three products. An upgrade path from Junior to MINI is in the works and will be available on-line soon. If you have a more urgent need, please feel free to contact us at Sonic Studio. best, ralph s. [email protected]
