  1. i plan to buy a XS35GT SHUTTLE (because is fanless) to listen music and watch movies in my living room. i will add a SSD. This PC is limit 2 GB of RAM. I thin'k is not enough to run windows 7 64 bits. Does windows 7 professionnal 32 bit is ok to read hi res music file et hd movies ? Do you seen some trouble with windows 7 / 32 bit version with JRiver CENTER MEDIA? Does it sound good like 64 bit ?
  2. in the article "CAPS SERVER", We can read "Along with the Lynx AES16 card I also recommend a custom cable from a place like Redco. Redco will make a cable with only one or two AES wires and a clock wire if desired for about $60." So, i'm interested to buy this cable to connect a LYNX AES16 PCI to my BENCHMARK DAC-1 (XLR connection). (I plan to make my own dac serveur with LYNX AES16 PCI) I probably upgrade my DAC-1 in two next year for a BERKELEY ALPHA-DAC or NAIM-DAC. If i choose the berkeley, i think the connector is the same than in my DAC-1 (XLR), else if i choose the naim DAC, i have to take a SPDIF connector. is it possible at REDCO to have two connector (SIDE B) XLR and SPDIF ? Is it a good idea, else i can choose only the XLR connector. How i have to describe this configuration to REDCO if i whan't the custom cable talk about in the previous article ? The lynx cable (#CBL-AES1604) is it ok for plug my dac-1 instead the REDCO CUSTOM CABLE? it have 9 terminations side B ???
  3. Thank's for this precision do you know when is available and how much pour the XLR/EBU version of EVO ?
  4. i went on M2TECH website. the m2tech evo device don't seem have a XLR/AES/EBU output to connect my benchmark DAC1. It have a toslink connector but i don't like the sound of toslink. thank's
  5. it's diffucult in Montréal to have a store to build the Computer Audiophile Pocket Server - C.A.P.S with lynx card... So, i look for a small computer with hiface like M2TECH or something like this but with a XLR connection my conditions are: 01. Silent. 02. Capable of great sound. 05. Fairly inexpensive. 07. Easy to operate. a.Directly or b.Remotely 09. Small size. 10. Low power consumption. 11. Low heat. 13. Play 16/44.1, 24/44.1, 24/88.2, 24/96, 24/176.4, and 24/192 all bit perfect. 14. HDMI connection is a advantage for watch movie... but not essentiel i think to: mac-mini with ? hiface/PURE MUSIC or DELL inspiron zino hd whith ? hiface/J RIVER for store my music, a store make this NAS suggestion: D-Link NC DNS-323 2Bay NAS Storage Enclosure SATA 10/100/1000 Gigabit WD CAVIAR GREEN 1TB IntelliPower 64MB 3.5" SATA 3GB/S I wait your suggestions and comments about a XLR connection, computer and NAS. NOTE1 : I use a BENCHMARK DAC 1/CONRAD JOHNSON PV14/CONRAD JOHNSON MV60/TOTEM FOREST NOTE2: when i will have much money, i probably upgrade my benchmark -> Berkeley alpha NOTE2 : Sorry my english, i make big effort...
