  1. I found this "solution" on the Apple forums and indeed it seems to have restored similar speeds to iTunes 10. It also eliminated the annoying new popup window for search results, and reverted to narrowing the list of matching songs. I'm just not sure why deselecting "search entire library" would fix it since it seems to still be searching my entire library even when I turn off that option.
  2. I'm having major delay issues with the search function. When I start typing, I get the spinning wheel and it takes at least 15-30 seconds before any results are shown. Now granted, my library has 171,074 songs, but iTunes 10 had almost immediate response.
  3. I use Toast to save a disk image in Toast's own format. It is an audio CD format, meaning that if you later mount it from within Toast, it mounts like a physical CD.
  4. I use Toast Titanium to do this job. Drag the files into Toast like you're going to burn a CD, but instead of burning, click the "Save As Disc Image" button and it saves the tracks into an image file. Then use the Toast Utilities menu and select the Mount Disc Image option. Open the saved image and voila... it's just like inserting a physical CD.
  5. I use Amadeus II version 3.8.7 (rather than the newer Amadeus Pro). For some reason that I've long forgotten, the newer, "better" version was harder to use and I didn't need whatever new features it offered. But Amadeus II meets most of my needs for editing, fading and repairing audio files. However, it does NOT offer the variety of fades that you're asking for. But the fades work fine for me.
