  1. Just moved to Ithaca, NY. Any of you live there? Any audiophile groups or lists?
  2. I’m curious too. I’ve got a MUTEC REF10 se120.
  3. Actually, the dimensions of the device are the same as the max carryon size so that won't work.
  4. Thats a good idea too. The case could easily be opened at security. I wonder if they would want to really open it up though since they won't be able to see through it with X-rays. That would not be cool. They'd probably just swab.
  5. Interesting idea.Thanks. Hmm. It's 36 pounds. Very dense pounds. As in, they won't be able to see through it with their X-ray machine.
  6. We are temporarily moving across the country for eight months. I would like to take some of my equipment with me. Particularly a Linn DSM. However, I am kind of freaked out about how to ship my most valuable asset ('cept the obvious car, house etc). I have thought of two possible methods: 1. Ship via FedEx. 2. Put inside a well-packed and strapped-down wooden crate in our 'cube' (u-pack relocube to be specific). Both have their downfalls I guess. FedEx broke my original DSM when their customs people repacked it on the way over from Scotland (Im in the US). It doesn't have to go through customs this time, but, it left a bad taste in my mouth. The stuff in the cube is covered by my homeowners policy but is not really covered by the shipping company. I have no idea what the cubes go through as they are shipped across country. Do any of have experience with this? Opinions, guidance, do/don't, other good options would be appreciated. I don't mind spending money if good outcomes are more likely. Thanks, Michael
  7. I have my ERs sandwiched in between two HRS Nimbus. I think it’s worth doing. Like so many things, it’s a small incremental improvement. Adds to a lower noise floor, etc.
  8. Last month you gave me some good feedback on a network/power diagram. Thank you. I figured I’d reply with a revised diagram but it took me a month and I finally just drew it. Do y’all see any issues with moat (or other) issues? red=power blue=network I noted A/B sides of Etherregen.
  9. Because I am little talent at such things and no Internet is not an option. the pictures are of the cable modem. interesting questions though - I’ll have to check it out.
  10. I have an extra spot on my LPS and a new cable modem with a wall wart that could be replaced… however, I don’t recognize this plug and can’t find it anywhere. It’s not the standard 2.1/5 plugs you see on most equipment. I figure that if I can find it, I can have an LPS cord made with this. Anyway, pictures:
  11. Have you seen directions or know of anyone who will modify the REF 10 to use an LPS?
  12. Alright. My understanding of the moat idea is sketchy at best. Im thinking about buying a Mutec Clock. It has its own, internal LPS so it would be plugged into my power conditioner. Does the following sketch break the moat in the ER that is connected to my Nucleus and Linn DSM? Red=power, Green=network/clock connections
