  1. Hi all, I finally found some time to put the code on the public repository so that people willing to help can proceed. The issue tracker is also ready and people are welcome to bring in the features they would like to see or vote for existing enhancements so that it gives us a direction. Please check that no similar entry has not already been created before creating a new one. Fabrice
  2. Hi all, sorry for not having given any news so far but I've been in a middle of a war with my employer (and this war still goes on). I didn't have any time to work on yTrack those last weeks due to my situation. Another developer willing to help has just contacted me. I sincerely hope this will help us to make move forward. Today or tomorrow I'll send the url to our bug tracker. If people could vote for the features they want this will give us a guide to what we should work on first. Best regards Fabrice
  3. Hi Tim, could you be more specific about how and when it loses connection ? Does your iPad or library goes to sleep ?
  4. Hi, for now iOS 4.2 is not supported as it is now officially released. I suppose you're an iOS developer to have it installed on your iPad. I'm aware of the crash and I just updated to 4.2b2 to track this problem down. I'll update the app shortly to fix that bug. regards, Fabrice
  5. OK so after a week thinking about the future I should give to yTrack, I decided to still work on it but the open source way. What will it mean ? I'd like to give to others the possibility to come and help make yTrack always better. Of course, people will need programming skills but hey I'm not the only one that listens to music and knows how to program huh ? This may mean also that the next updates might be quite slow to come. This also means that I strongly need people interested in helping in that software and not only developers but also users, to submit their feedback, document, translate and so on... Many of you will be more than welcome in this new 'era' and it won't require a lot of effort : just the same as you do here in this forum The 1.1.1 release will still bring the minor enhancements I was planning but more important than that : code will be open. I really don't know when all will be ready as I have to setup a new web site, clean and document code, publish to an open source software forge, ... and build a community. This will require a lot of effort but this is challenging and I like challenges So this is not the end but the beginning of a new adventure
  6. with you about coverflow. For me it is quite useless but people may like to browse their collection this way.
  7. I really tend to dislike folder view as I really prefer to navigate my music using metadatas. Is is more versatile IMHO : you can browse a way or another quite easily (if the software allows you to do so of course...)
  8. Maybe it would make sense to allow user to order lists by what they want (be it album name, artist name and so on)...
  9. This is closed source software so there is no way I can add feature to Apple's Remote.
  10. great softwares are always like this : no matter how big the overlap between two solutions is, the smaller details always make the difference. Paugust, your remark makes perfectly sense. I feel like if we succeed together to build a coherent set of features that would help every one, this could make a big difference. I keep your idea in my notebook.
  11. Hi ! some of you wrote me directly worried about my last post. I must say that I haven't taken any decision yet. I'm really balancing pros and cons to continue. So I noticed coverflow was a great request. OK but that's not really what could decide someone to give yTrack a go. Lyrics would be nice that's true but Apple hasn't published how one should request lyrics from iTunes. What does it cost, well, "hell-of-a-lot-of-time" ! This is not that much about money. yTrack sells reaaaally slowly (about 5 to 10 apps per day). This is not what is going to make me rich ! raising the price won't help a lot IMHO as I really can't justify to make people pay for a software that does less that a free one I was also thinking of making the code Open Source using a GPL license. It may help the software to make progress but I feel quite uncomfortable to gain money on other's work Again, I haven't taken my decision so far and all options are open.
  12. Thank you Max for the news. I have installed the app and i must admit that they have done a very beautiful piece of software. This is very bad news for yTrack... Now there is really absolutely no point in continuing the effort of developing yTrack unless some have really really good point to make me code inside it which may add value in comparison to the official Apple app. What are your opinions ? regards, Fabrice
  13. such a feature is planned for 1.2 or 1.3 (I don't remember) but anyway this is scheduled
  14. Hi ! what you are talking about is wake-on-lan feature. One friend of mine also requested this feature from me and I'll try to add this if not in 1.1.1 then in 1.2 release. It is quite easy I think but I haven't dealt with such features for the moment. Fabrice
  15. Yes I plan to cache album artwork to speed up things a bit more. But I'm still unsure of when to trash the cache.
