  1. Hi. Thanks for your input. While I'm at home, I listen to the music while breaking-in the DAC. However when I go to work, I was wondering if I should leave the receiver powered-on as well. Cheers.
  2. Hi MR. Thanks for your reply. I'm glad that I don't need to turn on the receiver. Cheers.
  3. I just got a new tube DAC (Mhdt Havana). I have my source (my laptop or my CD transport) connected to the DAC. And then, the DAC is connected to a A/V Receiver. To break-in the DAC, is it enough to just have the source (laptop/CD transport) and DAC running? Do I need to turn on the A/V Receiver as well? How about if I replace a new tube for the DAC and I want to break-in the tube. Does the same thing apply? Thanks.
  4. Hi Eloise. Thanks for your input. I currently play files with Foobar software from my laptop. Do you mean using the Squeezecenter software is better? in what way? You also suggested that running separate PC is better? Could you explain what you meant? My DAC is Havana (by Mhdt Lab). It doesn't have async USB. Thanks.
  5. For those who have experience with Squeezebox Touch, could you help me with the following question. I’m using a DAC that has USB, Optical and Coaxial inputs. For playing lossless and hi-res files, which of these 3 would produce the best sound: 1.My old and unmodified laptop (around 2005 Sony VAIO) connected to the DAC using a USB cable. 2.An external/portable HDD connected to Squeezebox Touch using a USB connection. And then Squeezebox Touch connected to the DAC using a coaxial cable. 3.Similar to number 2. But instead of coaxial connection, the Squeezebox Touch connected to the DAC using an optical cable. At the moment I’m using the first option. For me the sound is okay (and since I listen at volume that’s loud enough, the laptop fan noise/sound doesn’t really bother me). However I wonder if Squeezebox Touch would give much better sound. Thanks.
