So with an Intel CPU would you leave the Mulitcore Box blank/unchecked, or Grey?

Are you referring to HQPlayer Desktop, or was the embedded/client software also upgraded? Is there a link to release notes for the various versions? I couldn't any on the HQP website.
  3. +1 I just got mine today. Super fast build and shipping. I ordered Sunday night in the US, and it was at my door Wednesday morning. I am running it in the default configuration (as posted above by Peter on 10/16/2020). I am hearing some good things already but I won't comment further until it gets 48 hours of playtime.
  4. I'm having a problem with the HQP Desktop seeing the NAA, even when I just have one on the network. I usually have to go into and out of preferences several times, for it to show up. Do you have any suggestions for this? And... I now have 2 NAA both using your 300mb OS. From what I understand, I can't make any changes to these images. How do I ensure that the 2 NAA are named differently?

    Great, Thank you Jussi.

Would this require 2 HQP Desktop Licenses, or can I run both instances with one license?

    HQ Player

I use Roon to send music to devices throughout the house. I recently bought HQP Player Desktop and connected up my main listening area Dac with HQP NAA (using a mini PC). Now I'd like to setup my 2nd listening area with a 2nd HQP NAA using a 2nd mini PC. I know I can go into HQP Desktop and switch the NAA each time I want to listen to music in the 2nd listening area, but that isn't wife friendly. Is there a way of using a 2nd NAA without having to go to HQP Desktop each time. It would be great to be able to just setup another audio source within roon. That would allow all switching of NAA and music to be done in Roon.
  8. Thank you to Jussi and the folks that have posted here in this thread. I got one of the Mini PC's that folks suggested for the USA based folks. With Jussi's help, the NAA software is loaded and working. Is there a noticeable improvement in SQ if you upgrade the stock power wallplug, with a better power supply? If so what would you suggest? Also, have you found any benefit to upgrading the stock usb cable between the Mini PC and the DAC?
  9. Thank you for the info on the USB stick. That's very helpful. I sent you an email for more info on specifically which file I need to download for the NAA.
  10. Hi Jussi, If I get the UP/Atom computer, what is the minimum size USB stick size that you recommend, and does the USB stick transfer speed matter? Can you point me to the latest image for the atom computer and NAA software?
  11. I have tested the 2009 Mini head to head against the 2010 mini, and my tests led me to the opposite of Freddie's conclusion (no disrespect intended). I too thought the 2009 would sound better and cleaner than the 2010 mini. But when I tested both Mac using the same software, music files, cables, and audio system, the 2010 mini had the better and cleaner sound. All tests were done with the stock power supply. I was surprised that the 2009 didn't sound better, so I ran the tests a few times, and had other friends over to get her opinions. The 2010 was the clear choice. Since 2010, the 2011 and 2012 minis have improved the sound. While the power supply has stayed the same, the faster processors, faster memory, and lower power draw, have helped improve the sound. I haven't tested the 2014 mini yet. I have one on the way and do plan to test it against the 2012 Quad core. I am interested in the outcome. Like the OP mentioned, the 2012 Quad core is faster, but the 2014 has faster HDD, and faster memory. The 2014 HDD is PCIe which could be quieter (emi-wise). While processor clock speed helps us hear the music decay more precisely, the 2014 could sound better overall.
  12. Which Ethernet cable(s) did you buy? What did they for the sound (i.e. less noise, less muddled bass, etc)?
