  1. Hello, firstly please let me apologise for the waffle I am about to subject you to! In a nutshell I'd like to purchase an Arcam rDac and I'm wondering if I can utilise it's asynchronous usb mode feeding it through my PS3 running Yellow Dog Linux. I have searched for the answer to my question for weeks now but to no avail. I have also sent Arcam an email but as yet have not had a reply. I know that the rDac will work in asynchronous mode with both PC and Mac without any further support required but I can't find any information on this Dac or any other with asynchronous mode that gives any indication if they work in asynchronous mode with Linux. I accept that I may be making an issue here out of nothing; to be honest my understanding of the technology is so lacking that I don't actually know if the asynch mode is a feature purely of the Dac or if it requires the computer to support it. In the event that I can't find an answer I will doubtless still purchase one and rig it up via usb anyway but I'm also interested to know if there would actually be any indication as to whether the data was being fed via adaptive or asynchronous mode. Thanks for your patience, looking forward to your replies!
