  1. I opened the dbPowerAmp Configuration utility and checked the advanced codec settings, but did not see a section that referenced the AIFF tags. It did look like dbPowerAmp was using ID3v2.3 for other media types though. Do you know a way to check which version of ID3v2.x the file has or what dbPowerAmp is using for AIFF encoding? Thanks for your continued help!
  2. I'm trying to view them from within Explorer. I have read somewhere that Explorer will not view ID3v2 tags, but that Media Center may... but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to make that happen! Ultimately, we have three Windows 7 Media Center PCs that we use for everything (TV, movies and music). We also have two AppleTVs. Therefore, the need for a format that can go between different operating systems. Is there anyway to make Windows Media Center and/or Explorer to use the ID3v2 tags in an AIFF file. The AppleTVs are seeing them fine. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!
  3. Thanks for everyones help... I've given dbPowerAmp a shot, but I'm not seeing the tag info displayed from within Windows. Any thoughts about what I might be doing wrong? I used the dbPowerAmp CD Ripper on a single CD after downloading and selecting the AIFF encoder. But when I look at the media files from a PC, it is not showing artist, album, etc... Thoughts?
  4. Hello all!!! I'm in a little of a pickle and cannot seem to find the answer... and help is appreciated! We are using a combination of PCs and Apple devices for audio playback. The PCs are running Windows 7 - MCE and the apple devices consist of Apple TVs, etc... All of which are connected to external DACs. The problem is finding a audio format which all of our devices can play AND support tags (author, album, track, cover art, etc...). I have no interest in maintaining multiple libraries. Here is a little background... We have originally been ripping our CDs with EAC as WAVs and adding the TAG information on our Windows box, but WAVs do not store the tag info in the file itself, so portability to other media players (AppleTV) is non-existent. Everything shows up as "unknown artist" and such. We experimented with Apple Lossless, but found the PC running Windows 7 didn't want to play them! Not to mention, our blind-tests proved the Apple Lossless to be less desirable than the WAVs (even with error correction enabled). Side note: We are using a 100% fanless PC -> DacMagic -> Anthem PRE1 -> Anthem AMP1 -> Magnepan 3.6s. We then have AppleTV devices throughout the house hooked up to various other smaller systems. So, our blind-tests are VERY revealing. So... I'm curious what others are doing to support both the MAC and PC worlds. Thoughts??? Thanks!
