  1. Thanks for the netbook suggestion; I will consider that. I didn't realize the Squeezebox is wired; the "Overview" page only mentioned wireless--I will look further into that too. Seems like there are some choices out there. Thanks very much.
  2. Thanks. So many of them use wireless, which I have very bad experiences with. It looks like these two can be wired to both the router and the stereo, eliminating the wireless problems: http://www.gracedigitalaudio.com/tuner-wifi-ethernet-radio-tuner-gdiirdt200-p-91.html http://www.sangean.com/products/products_main.asp?pid=56 Anyone know much about them? Thanks very much again.
  3. I am wondering if there is a device that I can connect to my router and my stereo that will stream Web radio. Something other than a full computer, that is. I don't need any local storage, just the ability to select Web radio streams and hear it through the stereo. Something simple and not expensive. I suspect a computer might be the only solution but I'm wondering what you experts know about this. Now I use iTunes Radio and AirTunes to my Airport Express but the wireless stream is subject to constant interruptions and long drop-outs so I want something wired without having to get another computer sitting by the stereo. (And yes, I have tried all the various ways of getting AirTunes to work better but I reached a point where I must give up trying.) Thanks very much.
  4. Thanks! 44.1k / 24 bit were the default settings so I will just leave them alone. It sounds great like that; I was just wondering if I was missing something . . . . Thanks again.
  5. I don't know what to set the "Audio MIDI" settings to on my MacBook. I use iTunes, AirTunes, Airport Express, Musical Fidelity V-DAC. The choices shown are 16, 20 and 24 bit (all two-channel) and 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz. Which bit level and Hz level should I set Audio MIDI to? Do I have to change the settings based upon the file I am playing? I hope not. I would like to know the best set-it-and-forget-it settings. I don't have any expertise in this Audio MIDI stuff, as you may have guessed. Thanks very much in advance. I appreciate all insight provided. Best regards.
