  1. I created a ticket. I explained my problem. I received a very corteus response, but it seems that recovering a password to be able to use the same email account for all my audio things is way more complicated than I thought. Thanks for the advice.
  2. I sent the password missing request many times. I checked my spam folder all the times. I opened a Help Center account and sent a ticket. Can someone enlighten me on what a DIRAC paid user has to do to to have his account password reset?
  3. Hi, I too like Amarra and have been using it since 2010. As my current soundcard won't work with Mojave, a few days ago I ordered an UMIK-1 and as soon as I get it I will try the new Amarra and IRC. Will keep you posted! Thanks.
  4. I have tried to contact SonicStudio but cannot get the contact form to work on any of my computers. I have a copy of Amarra Symphony with IRC that, except for the occasional glitch, works great on a dedicated 2009 Mac Mini with Mavericks and does wonders for the tonal balance and coherence of the rig. I know it is an old machine, but the system works perfectly with both Amarra and Audirvana and so far I haven't had the need to change it. The main reason for continuing to use Amarra is to have the ability to continue using my IRC license and my current DAC. Now, since the fan has already started to make some noise and it will probably have to be replaced and a little in-depth maintenance is in order (thermal paste, etc), I had planned to use another MacMini from 2016, if possible with Mavericks and if not, with some More modern OS. In any case, it would be a dedicated computer that does not handle sensitive data. The question is... If I update to Amarra Luxe, will it work with my existing licence of Dirac IRC? TIA
  5. Thanks cosmuk, I followed your indication and installed a fresh copy of A4L and it worked fine for a while. Then I turned IRC off and when turned it on again it got broke. But restarted amarra and its working fine again now. At this point I do not know whether to upgrade from Symphony 3 to A4L or simply to SQ+ Do you know if SQ+ compatible with Audirvana?
  6. For the second time in a week I did a fresh install of OSX El Capitan and A4L Demo. Then I created a very small library of hi-res albums, mostly FLAC but also some AIFF. No matter what I do, IRC does not work. I loaded 3 different filters that I created last Sunday and all of them shift the stereo to the right side. I sent a note to Ralph of Sonic and he replied they are aware of the problem, so it would be useful to know what exact OS version are you running and what exact build of Amarra 4 Luxe works fine with IRC. Are running the Windows version of A4L by a chance? Thanks in advance. Rod
  7. Just installed A4 Luxe Demo on a fresh OS install. Sounds great, but as others have reported, sound is shifted to the right when IRC is ON. Yesterday I made a new set of measurements and filters to see whether DIRAC might have updated something, but results are identical. New filters sound fine in Symphony 3 but they fail in A4L. Any updates on this issue? Could it be possible that it just don't work on the demo version? Are they really selling the IRC feature to new customers knowing that it does not work?
  8. That is exactly what I intend to do this weekend. I plan to build an A to B male adapter with a socket for an outboard PSU: I will have to sort some cable cluttering out at the back panel of my DAC as it is pretty crowded back there, though :-)
  9. Sure. As I ordered an iFi unit, won't be probably using this DIY adapter for a long time, but, until the iFi arrives, will be having some fun powering the dac with different PSUs and batteries. :-) Just made this experiment to see if the async USB option of my DAC could be used to get a nice SQ. I am really happy with the HiFace EVO, but wanted to use the DSD over PCM feature of my DAC. As it only works with USB, I needed something to make the connection as clean as possible. Cables are not a solution. Some of them are better to my ears, but, in my case, the best sounding are the shortest ones.
  10. 100% agree. I was really hoping to get rid of the EVO and its PSU (I love the sound) and simply use an USB cable to link my MacMini with the DAC. Unfortunately this did not work for me. I tried many DACs with async USB. To my ears, none of them could match the SQ of my Buffalo II driven by the EVO when powered by LiFePo4s. As always, good PSUs and good electronic practices are mandatory for good audio quality.
  11. It works! While assembling option 3, realized that one pin of the A to B adapter I was using to keep everything as short as possible was a bit loose. So I grabbed a short cable, cut the connection to the led and voilá! Option 1 worked as Jim and Alex suggested. A few pics of the experiment: Sound panel showing the DAC available – and playing some music! Close view – Led and resistor not necessary! The whole thing close to the Placid PSU ready to be connected to the Mac Mini Thanks everyone for the help and support. Rod
  12. Jim, I tried Alex' first option, both with a led in series to the resistor and without. The adapter's led lights up and the DACs USB led shows that the USB is active, but none of my Macs shows the DAC listed. Just to clarify: Alex' schematic is the one with a white background. The one with beige background and 3 options is the one I drawn yesterday to show the options I tried (1 and 2) and the one I intend to try tonight. By the way, I tried them all both with my laptop and with my Mac Mini and with 2 DACs with USB input and carefully measured and cheched everything out before connecting. As both leds were lit I guess there could be something impeding that the computer negotiates with the dac properly. TTYL
  13. Muito obrigado. Unfortunately, the USB chip of my DAC is powered by the computer.
  14. I also tried that, Alex I actually did that first and then cut the cable to fit option 1 of the diagram you pointed me to yesterday:
