  1. I have Audioengine A5+ speakers and I can testify the sound is outstanding in my home office...for less than US$500. I paid CDA$379 for the pair of bamboo A5+'s. I have owned Magnepan, Paradigm, PSB and Totem speakers costing up to US$2K along with expensive seperates. The A5+'s are an outstanding bargain-I now so enjoy listening to the music and not my stereo.
  2. that is a very good point-the powered speaker cannot benefit from the upgrading of the wire to running to it's slave speaker. I don't think the sound is unbalanced with my upgraded wire and I am not going to mod the internal wiring on the powered speaker. I will leave well enough alone.
  3. I am glad to hear that you like the Kimber Kables so much. I am happy enough with the Signet cables but I may buy the single 8.5' run of 8VS for $50. The price is right but I am not sure about how improved the sound would be. I will let you know if I buy them.
  4. sorry, my mistake-should have been 8VS-http://www.kimber.com/products/loudspeakercables/vs/8/
  5. I was going to buy a run of Kimber 8AZ so your results would be appreciated. I just replaced the standard Audioengine wire with an old run of heavy Signet MusicLine cables-the sound is warmer and full. I like it better. I listened to some BIS 24 Bit downloads I have from eclassical.com.
  6. Good question-I have used a few types of cable with my new A5+'s but have not heard any appreciable difference in sound quality-certainly no worse when I went from the included zip wire to Audiostream wires. I am curious as to the best wires for the A5+'s.
