I experience a difference in sound in 11.1.3 Would say that it is less muffled in my little rig. Macmini, marantz pearl lite and Amphion Argon 1 ( The new small Argons). Was planning to try a dac from Atoll but will now wait and listen for a while.

Be prepared, you are not going to be treated with audiophile SQ :-) There are singers and there are artists Jacques Brel-Ne me quitte pas (Eng. Subtitles) - YouTube I also like this version of "Don't think twice it's alright" Peter Paul and Mary, Don't Think Twice It's Alright - YouTube

As we're talking Bill Evans.. ...may i humbly recommend a listen to Eliane Elias album "Something for you" where she plays Bill Evans music. Heard a track from it on web radio. Found the album on Spotify and have for the moment listened to just a few tracks but I liked it so far. Give it try if you have a chance to listen to it on Spotify or Mog or any other service.

I'm probably not an audiophile 'cause I haven't really thought of this album as an audiophile release. I think that, just based on the fact that you after seeing and hearing a video clip ordered the album, you will enjoy the music and performance of the artists. I haven't played it for a while so thank you for reminding me.

Switching between DACs on a Mac Mini

Thank you REShaman for taking your time to explain. I'm not much of a Mac user. Just have my Macmini for iTunes and Spotify. -
Switching between DACs on a Mac Mini
Enicar replied to Enicar's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
Thanks Hot-swapping would help AB testing but then maybe longer listening is really better if evaluating different DACs Hmm? Kernel panic sounds like something I should avoid even though I don't know what it means and how to cure it if it happens. I think I play it safe and turn off the Mac. -
Is it advisable to turn off a MacMini when disconnecting one dac and connecting another to the same USB port?

Article: Welcome to Computer Audiophile 3.0
Enicar replied to The Computer Audiophile's topic in Article Comments
Personally I find the the new layout difficult to read. Each line in a text e.g. equipment reviews is longer /wider than what you would find in a book or on a letter sized print. This creates a text mass that is tiring for me to read. -
I guess internet radio is a couple of notches below the general audiophile sq requirement for most people on the forum but as I understand some of you use Macs I will ask this anyway. Apart from iTunes is there any program/app/service I can install to lookup and play internetradio? I have found that iTunes streams e.g. Adorejazz.com at 64kbps and through my SB Touch I get 128kbps (sounds pretty decent actually) There are houndreds of radio stations in iTunes Radio but no search function. Well there is a genre division. Any suggestions? Most thankful for tips on HQ streaming ( I suppose 320kbps is HQ in the stream world) Pa

You stilled my curiosity. I guessed the comparison was a CD player but wondered wich player.

santiago When you say the HRT MS2+ has a small soundstage etc. what do you compare it to?

What does it do this "Less is more"-setting? Or maybe I should ask what it doesn't do.

Spotify´s release dates seems to have just as little relation to actual release date of the album. <br /> 2010 or 2011 is in brackets after most album names I have played lately and these were Sinatra albums from 50's - 60's.

Cookie Marenco<br /> I agree with you, "lie" is a strong word but I find "truth" stronger :-)<br /> Thank you for you comments<br /> <br /> Now it may very well be that I cannot always distinguish 320kbps from CD but there is a difference. And this is an audiophile forum.<br /> <br /> It still seems that MOG is the better alternative(and a good one)for US listeners. I have to stick with Spotify here in Sweden but for $13-14 a month I think it's worth the money. Competition wouldn't hurt though.
