yess , same level too the only difference is QOBUZ---HQPL vs QOBUZ--ROON-HQPL sounds very different even if Roon vs HQPlayer Client to manage QOBUZ is no contest too but in the other way 😄

that's the point , sounds normal to me that a entry level dac could be enhanced by a top streamer source . but do it with an already perfect sounding AND mesuring Dac don't have sense . reminds me the hype of putting numbers of mutec MC3 reclocker in chain together to clean the clean 🤨

sounds crazy to me that the supposed " creme de la creme" dac lile the MolaMola Tambaqui needs another 12000$ server to get his best .. this hobby will always surprise me 😄

the magic here is that we have the choice , i also found upsampled PCM with Polysyinc LP filter can sound as good as upsmapling to DSD with all the Tralala .. but it needs very good recording . with 90% of the music even if if the uspampling PCM to DSD seems a little slower it also sounds more forgiving and makes everything listenable . the only real drawback with the DSD part is the too many combination possible to try .; and finally we are tempted to use a different config for each recording 😅

nothing expensive or crazy , change all the power capacitors withs Nichicon FG same value and the as it was a big upgrade mod for my digital crossover before, i have changed the 4X 47uf Muse Bipolar coupling Caps with 100uf Audionote Kasei Bipolar i don't feel shy bass at all . sounds as good in PCM 768K or DSD 256 with HQPLAYER with the right filter..

From whatt i hear now i don't feel the urge to do that . even if there is a simple dual rail +-12V to do . Audio notes Bi'polar instead of the Muse have a different flavor but could be placebo but to increase their value from 47uf to 100uf change the high pass frequency and a low ESR could not harm..

i definitly love mine , i do'nt miss my T+A DAC 8 DSD or HOLO SPring2 . as i m still an old audiofool i have pimp my unit , now i have a golden sound 😄

i have a 3 way speaker with compression driver and cones 6,5inch Fullrange as mids and 15inch bass driver . and 3 amplifier 1 Purifi and 2 x 300B SET , one Capacitor coupled with SMPS filament heating power supply , and a more older design one with intersatge coupling and a nalog power supply ( the noiser of the three ) . let say that for the Bass driver the 250W help but it is also the first time i have 0 noises or hum there ( my previous Amp was a First Watt M2 ). very thight bass and well controled nothing to complain . than i have made a test with the 3 amplifier on my midrange running fullrange and i still prefer the horrible noises and distorsions comming from my Tubes Amps . Sometimes a Painting gives you more pleasure than a picture .. 🙂

thank you all so i'm not crazy when i say that the new Sync Long put a new standard in upsampled PCM mode . even if i continue to listening a lot polysinc ASDM5EC in DSD with non forgiving materials.. 😌
