  1. thank you so basically both can be used in the same time .. thx again q
  2. Hi, this is a bit off topic (i hope not disturbing anyone..) : does a room correction app work together with Audirvana Plus direct mode ? like this one here : Dirac RCS | Dirac Research has anyone tried any of these ? do they worth to give it a try ? thank you q
  3. awesome sound !! if i leave only A+ running (Lion, direct mode) without any music, i hear pops/drops in every 10-15 sec . no issues to play any kind of music (245 bit, iso-dsd) . great work damien !
  4. http://www.audiostream.com/content/bitperfect
  5. how do you actually set Audirvana as an external player ? is there any set up in preferences ?
  6. i have been "suggesting" a similar set up : Audirvana with Plex, but haven't tried XBMC so far ( i thought it works only on PC..)
  7. HI, it does not play 24 bits / 88.2 khz music on my set up (still snow leopard, and i have the licens)). Also, im having problems between playing songs : it stoppes sometimes, or jumps on not selected songs - quite weird .. SQ is still great tough . My major issue / miss is still : how to play my massive amount of flac songs from my folders without starting to convert them to aiff (which would take ages..) . i have 70% of my music in iTunes (aiff), but also a few thousand songs in flac in folders, so i either use the iTunes integration, or go back to normal mode, and "copy-paste" the songs from the folders.. sometimes i dream about a source, like Plex (http://www.plexapp.com/ )where all kind of files could be "sourced", but played with Audirvana as a great player . .. it seems it is never going to happen.. ciao q
  8. Hi , does anyone knows if there is a wiki on the web for description of integer mode and hog mode ? thank you q
  9. please add the Bladelius Usb Dac to the list such a great piece of audio engineering.. ciao q
  10. i changed the sample rate conversation from Core to SRC (still no forced upsampling) , and it works in integer with no single noise.. ! here is the debug during playing : Audirvana rev. 0.9.3 debug information: Currently playing in Integer Mode: Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit, 8 bytes per frame @44.1kHz Hog Mode is on Devices found : 4 List of devices: Device #0: ID 0x10e Built-in Output UID:AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,2:0 Device #1: ID 0x108 Bladelius USB 2.0 Audio Out UID:AppleUSBAudioEngine:Bladelius :Bladelius USB Audio 2.0:0000:1 Device #2: ID 0x104 Soundflower (2ch) UID:SoundflowerEngine:0 Device #3: ID 0x101 Soundflower (16ch) UID:SoundflowerEngine:1 Preferred device: Bladelius USB 2.0 Audio Out UID:AppleUSBAudioEngine:Bladelius :Bladelius USB Audio 2.0:0000:1 Selected device: ID 0x108 Bladelius USB 2.0 Audio Out UID:AppleUSBAudioEngine:Bladelius :Bladelius USB Audio 2.0:0000:1 6 available sample rates up to 192000.0Hz 44100.0 48000.0 88200.0 96000.0 176400.0 192000.0 Audio buffer frame size : 14 to 512 frames Current I/O buffer frame size : 512 Physical (analog) volume control: Yes Virtual (digital) volume control: Yes Preferred stereo channels L:1 R:2 Simple stereo device: yes Channel mapping: L:Stream 0 channel 0 R:Stream 0 channel 1 1 output streams: Stream ID 0x109 2 channels starting at 1 12 virtual formats: Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @192.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @176.4kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @96.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @88.2kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @48.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @44.1kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @192.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @176.4kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @96.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @88.2kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @48.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @44.1kHz 12 physical formats Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @192.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @176.4kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @96.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @88.2kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @48.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @44.1kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @192.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @176.4kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @96.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @88.2kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @48.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @44.1kHz

  12. Hi Damien, i have just received a Bladelius Usb Dac (http://www.bladelius.com/index.php/products/usb-dac )for testing, and having problem with playing through Audirvana - the CPU load keeps being red, and playing only scratches .. makes it only in integer mode Pure Music plays it with no problem somehow. could you have a look at the debug report, please ? thank you q Audirvana rev. 0.9.3 debug information: Hog Mode is off Devices found : 4 List of devices: Device #0: ID 0x10e Built-in Output UID:AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,2:0 Device #1: ID 0x108 Bladelius USB 2.0 Audio Out UID:AppleUSBAudioEngine:Bladelius :Bladelius USB Audio 2.0:0000:1 Device #2: ID 0x104 Soundflower (2ch) UID:SoundflowerEngine:0 Device #3: ID 0x101 Soundflower (16ch) UID:SoundflowerEngine:1 Preferred device: Bladelius USB 2.0 Audio Out UID:AppleUSBAudioEngine:Bladelius :Bladelius USB Audio 2.0:0000:1 Selected device: ID 0x108 Bladelius USB 2.0 Audio Out UID:AppleUSBAudioEngine:Bladelius :Bladelius USB Audio 2.0:0000:1 6 available sample rates up to 192000.0Hz 44100.0 48000.0 88200.0 96000.0 176400.0 192000.0 Audio buffer frame size : 58 to 2048 frames Current I/O buffer frame size : 2048 Physical (analog) volume control: Yes Virtual (digital) volume control: Yes Preferred stereo channels L:1 R:2 Simple stereo device: yes Channel mapping: L:Stream 0 channel 0 R:Stream 0 channel 1 1 output streams: Stream ID 0x109 2 channels starting at 1 12 virtual formats: Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @192.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @176.4kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @96.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @88.2kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @48.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 32bits little endian Float @44.1kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @192.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @176.4kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @96.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @88.2kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @48.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @44.1kHz 12 physical formats Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @192.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @176.4kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @96.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @88.2kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @48.0kHz Mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @44.1kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @192.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @176.4kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @96.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @88.2kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @48.0kHz Non-mixable linear PCM Interleaved 24bits little endian Signed Integer aligned low in 32bit @44.1kHz
  13. Hi Marcin, i guess im asking a question from the hart of many Mac users... ARE YOU PLANNING TO ISSUE A MAC VERSION ?? it is interesting - we made an A - B test last weekend between a Roksan Kandy CD player, and a Mac-Audirvana combo (same Dac, and analog at the end..) , and got to the same point we had gotten several times before : no mather 24 bits, 192khz, extream expensive Dacs, etc., etc., the result is the same : the CD still (audibly)outperforms the computer source for long time listenings ... We tried to word the reason, and gotten to the following result : it feels the CD sound is just a relaxing fluid flow of data / music, as opposed to the computer, where you keep "feeling" the issue of not having 100% correct data flow - timing wise . This causes (specially after longer period of listening) a kind of fatigue in your brain, because it needs to "correct" the false-timed-data . Before anyone attacts this observation, please make the same test carefully with a good CD player . Im not going back to CD, and trying to find the most accurate source possible on my Mac . After reading the specs of iPlayer, i thought wow, this is very interesting - theoretical answers to the issues we raised, but there is no Mac version , and im sorry, i never by a Pc (with respect to all Pc users..) so just repeting my first question : any Mac version on the horizon ? best q
  14. Hi, i have been wondering whether it would be possible to dedicate one of the 2 CPUs exclusively to audio (like Audirvana) on Mac ?? or even a step further : to bypass the OS to avoid the timing issues (caused by the multitasking of OS) during playback ? ((having done an other test with friends between CD transport, and Mac source (same Dac) - we got to the same result (as many times before) : the CD transport provides a much more accurate data / music source than the Mac - no mater how well the Mac is set up.)) want to stay with Mac, but trying to find a good solution to get 100% fluid data / music out of it . any thoughts ? best q
