  1. I have been listening to my W4S DAC2 for a few months now and though I should give some input. This unit sounds amazing. The front end of my system is an Acer Iconia 6886 with a 4TB Seagate for storage. The back end is Spectral Audio fully balanced with cables from MIT. Software is Media Monkey and Foobar 2000. They sound the same but Monkey has more control over the Dac2. The DAC does take a long time to break in. I have been testing with Desert Lady / Fantasy. This is a big band jazz piece. The W4S DAC provides pin point imaging with a wide deep sound stage. It is to the point where you can count the horns in the brass section. Bloody amazing! Usually to get this kind of definition the sound becomes sterile or clinical. Not so. The sound is full and has a weighted quality to it. In my system the difference between 96 and 192 can definitely be heard. There is more speed to the transients and the overall sound is smoother. (note; I have 24/192 content) The DAC will produce lows all the way down to DC but for some reason on my system the extended bass seems a little light, but still adequate. There has definitely been a lot of thought put into this relatively economical unit. Cheers; Glenn
  2. I wouldn’t hold my breath either. Always follow the money. 10,000 itunes will fit the 64 bit ipod in mp3 form. At a dollar a tune that’s a lot of money. 10 billion is a lot of money too. http://www.apple.com/itunes/10-billion-song-countdown/ A larger format would produce a smaller number of tunes. Sure they can raise the price, but people would not buy with the reckless abandon that they do with the mp3s. You might want to google the jail breakers. They might have an appropriate app. Cheers; Glenn http://www.apple.com/itunes/10-billion-song-countdown/
