  1. yes the Big Ben is a word clock, it does digital to digital conversion and no you don't need a clock in to use it. I can take a digital input in and then reclock it and or convert it to a different format.
  2. Hello forum, I just received a Chord QBD 76 for my showroom. This is a very impressive dac that can run from 44k to 176k. The problem I am having is in order to listen to the up-sampled 176k you need to run dual AES Cables into the unit. I have an Apogee Big Ben external clock but it doesn't seem to work to convert a single SPDIF input from my Qsonix server even though it does have a dual AES mode, it seems that the Big Ben will only allow dual AES when the incoming data stream is on the single aes input? Am I mistaken here or am I running the Big Ben incorrectly? Basically I would love to be able to offer my customers a package with the Chord DAC and an external clock which would allow them to use the DAC in its 176 mode. Any suggestions? Also by the way we just got in the Hegel HD 10 DAC from Hegel audio from Norway, it smokes every other inexpensive DAC we have tried including the Bryston and it comes quite close to our Esoteric D07. The only downside is only 48k on usb, but it does 24/192 on all other inputs. http://www.hegel.com/hd10.htm Thanks guys, your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
