I've been away from computer audio for several months, and so i have only just updated my versions of hqplayer and AO, and have just discovered that mqa is now available on roon. I wonder if you - and others - are willing to summarise your preferred settings? My setup is roon -> hqplayer -> ultrarendu -> SU-1 -> Holo Spring DAC. Do i take it from the comment above that you have found Linux (in my case, the ultrarendu) inferior to a WIndows-based NAA?

i think he means to manually find the smallest one by a binary search: that is for example, starting with the default, then halve the buffer size. Still sounds good? Then halve it again, etc. If it doesn't sound good any more, then try the buffer value half way between the current one and the last good one, etc etc until you find the smallest one that still sounds good. It's more efficient than trying every one.
  3. Thanks, but you misread my post, and I am well aware of the DHCP issue. The uRendu already has an IP address and from its perspective nothing has changed. The only thing that has changed is the PC adapter. Are you successfully using bridging under Windows with hqplayer running on the PC to a uRendu?
  4. Hi all, i hope this question hasn't already been answered -- i was following this thread for a while until the forum software change locked me out of tapatalk and the CA app on my iPhone. So i have missed activity in this thread over the past month or two. OK, so I installed a second Ethernet card in my PC, and did a fresh install of Windows Server 2016. I'm running hqplayer and roon server on this PC, serving a uRendu via a switch. All good, so before i change any physical connections, with everything working as it should, i just bridged the two Ethernet cards and manually set the IP address to the bridged card to the IP address of the connected card prior to bridging (which is a fixed address set in my router based on the card hardware address). As soon as I do this, the networking generally seems fine (eg, i can see roon server on the PC from my iPhone), BUT: hqplayer cannot find the uRendu NAA, even though i have not changed any physical connections at all. Just for laughs, i then tried directly connecting the uRendu to the second card, but it still wouldn't work (not surprisingly). I haven't seen any mention of anyone else having this problem. Suggestions welcome!

I can't give you a name, but it should be straightforward,i would think. It just needs to interface with hqplayer's network interface, as Roon does, for example. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  9. Are you using a Singxer su-1? If so, ours a firmware issue. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile

@ted_b, it would probably be easier to write a virtual dac driver that just sends the stream to hqplayer, a la roon. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  11. No, it's not because there is no apparent limit on the number of times you can run it (much better than the 30 day limit on Windows, which caused me to pay for a license before I was ready to do so). Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile

Dumb question: is hqplayer embedded just desktop without the gui? Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  15. Apologies if this is a dumb question, but why use bridge mode? When I used to use jplay, I just configured the second card interface as a different network. I would have thought bridging these two interfaces might expose the interface you want isolated to other network traffic. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
