I am almost there myself. Have the same tt but you have to get cartridge/stylus set up correctly as a start I did not like the phono cables on this tt. so I replaced them with a pair of very low Cap. ones In my quest, I have found that a lot of preamp phono input to either have incorrect loading, capacitance or resistance (impedance) Also tried using emu 0404 but the extra time to implement software RIAA, corrections >too much time. For software> Sound forge or Audacity then for minimizing clicks and pops there is none better than RX2-3 by Izotope one button default;awesome. Hardware > Rega tt. > Audible Illusions modulus 3 pre. >RME 9632 soundcard > PC There is a company that makes a ADC with phono in and 44.1 - 96khz optical and coax out for under $300 this same Co makes Dac's for $15000 and up; awaiting one. I have all both dune,pch,ac ryan,etc sound is good but you basically have to be geekish to get them to work properly.I have also tried Sony,Qnap,apple tv,Sage, they all differ in various ways There is a French company (HD Land)that are integrating Dune with a program called zappiti I have even suggested to another DVD player Co. to the feasibility doing something with media streaming but??

Why are we trying to hear more than what the Artist's (Music makers) intended to convey in their albums. Are we imagining the signals as they propagate through every component,resistor, capacitor etc and finally to or ears, rather than the message of the music? Why is it so that the equipment used by most musicians cost way less than so called audiophile equipment? I was told that in the reproduction end, we are always striving to get as close as possible to live performance. Well I have never heard a live performance with less than say 98db sound level plus all the hiss and buzz from stage equipment. I think we are paying high $'s for Engineering art. Winst

Don't forget one very important factor,which is the ability of an output device being able to drive a signal at a required level into the input of device being fed. In this case, if the driving unit have an output impedance of say 100k ohms and the receiving device input impedance is 10k ohms, then you would not be able to basically get full output of the receiving device say a power amplifier, because you would have just reduced that signal by 100k/10k or ten times less. Most pro gear that uses xlr have very low input impedance on the order of 6k - 8kohms, so trying to connect a consumer driving unit to a pro unit with xlr and or low in z creates a performance limitation.
