  1. I went to see on the net and I have the same information as you . I am afraid it is not sufficient with no air flow . Since it will be inside a box . This kind of mb is used in server farm where there is usually 4 degrés Celsius blown across the board . At minimum I think that room temperature air need to be blown through this radiator.Usually cpu are at full speed during bios start up.
  2. Thank for the answer . How you will handle the cooling since this mb has a very specific cooling tower intended for use in server farm where they blow very cold air on it . G
  3. Thank for the reply , but I am looking for passive cooling , fan will be electrically noisy .
  4. Which processor do you use ? How is done the cooling ?
  5. View Classified Server DIY supermicro X11SAA I am selling this DIY server based on Supermicro X11 SAA MB . This MB is used by Innuos on zenMK3 and Innuos statement top of line server .I have used this server with excellent musical results because it is a very quiet MB , to be operational it only need a 12V 2A power supply of good quality , the IFI power will do fine . RAM is APACER industrial wide temperature 4GO . AS an option I am offering an USB SOTM pcie board which belong to a friend . The box is a nice and heavy 100% aluminium size is 26cmx31x9 . This SAAX11 motherboard as an M2 slot which can accept an optane card for the software . I have personally used Daphile with excellent results . It is possible if you wish so to evolve to a server+player configuration , this is what I did with an Ered dock player from Engineered . Price without the SOTM pcie USB board is 370 Euros , SOTM pcie board is 150Euros Seller jean-michel6 Date 10/29/23 Price 520.00 USD Category Music Servers / Streamers

  9. Hi Paul , I can give you a few details about this switch. The main duty of the switch is to transmit the musical data to the streamer with no or very little electrical pollution . This electrical pollution comes from : - the router - the power supply inside the switch - the clocks in the switch To tackle these issues the HNE has 4 very quiet power supply : - optical - rj45 conversion board - clock board - Buffalo board - Tesla coils board These power supplies are DC4 like , they are also using Tesla coil technology ( used by Ansuz ) to lower emi-rfi noise They are also using a low noise clock board To isolate the noise from the router , it is using optical board . As a result of all that the HNE switch does deliver musical data with very little noise . The background sound is much more quieter and silent with the HNE than with any other switch I used before .
  10. There has been many many reports and feedback on the impact of the switch in an audio system . My system is extremely sensitive as I am only playing local files with a server pc and a player / renderer which is the engineered ered dock . Therefore the switch in my system is key for good sound quality. I use to have what I did consider a good set up ( an etherregen switch , an afterdark emperor Geiseman 10mhz clock , an afterdark high quality clock cable , powered with Sean Jacobs DC3 psu ) The cost of this set up is close to 5000$ now . A little bit crazy I agree , however the price of the reference clock has significantly increased since I purchase it . I have now sold all these equipment. I would like to report on a product that really deserves recognition . The first thing I must write is that the switch I have now is significantly better than my previous set up in the area of sound quality . The main quality that our audiophile switch must have is to avoid to produce or transfer electrical noise to the audio equipment that they are connecting . In this area this new switch is really outstanding . This switch is the HNE magicnet D1 supreme . The maker has produced several different model over the last year and it seems to be now a stable product . It is made in Vietnam and must be purchased direct from the supplier ( about one month waiting time between order and delivery ) . I did paid around 1600$ and the price went up , price is now I think around 2000$ . This switch is made of very good power supplies ( 4 total , one for each part of the switch ) , a Buffalo bs gs 16 switch board , a dedicated ocxo clock , and a fiber/lan card and also for the Tesla coils ( a technology to reduce emi/rfi noise ( used also by Ansuz ) . It is very friendly and simple to use as it is a one box set up , you just need a power cord . The first things that is impressive when you use this switch is that it gives you such a black background to the music because it is so silent electrically .Comparison with my previous set up was easy and quick as it is much better than my previous set up . Since the cost is significantly less it was a very good move for sound quality of my audio system. Below is a picture of this switch , you can find better pictures on the net . I have absolutely no interest or affiliation with HNE . I am reporting this as I think this maker does deserves recognition and also this could be a very wise move for audiophile who want to improve the sq of their system . Five of my audiophile friends in france have now also purchased this switch and are happy with the results .
  11. The speakon connector from Neutrik seems to be a good connector for the Ulps psu . However on the neutrik documentation they have written this : speakON is NOT to be used as an AC mains or power supply connector! Does somebody now why ? @Superdad Any idea as you recommend this ?
  12. Thank’s I have looked at the speak on connectors , they are good and secure . The point is also trying to achieve lowest resistivity , the jaeger is the best but quite expensive.
  13. I am in the process of building my ULPS V3 for my server and I need a little advise for the output connection set up . My server is not very high tdp ( Xeon only 45 W , super micro x10sdv-f ) ,this server is powered only with the ATX since there is no EPS connector on it .From what I have observed the power consumption is about 50 watts during start up and then 12 to 36 watts It is obviously important to achieve the lowest output resistivity (impedance ) to properly feed the taiko dc-dc card , less than 20 milliohm according to Nenon . In my set up I will need to have about 70 cm of wire between the ULPS and to use two connector ( one on ulps and one on the server) For connectors the option are the aviation type , the XLR and the Jaeger . The Jaeger contact resistivity goes from 1,5 to 0,7 milliohm depending on contact size and the XLR have less than 3 milliohm contact resistivity . I have not found the data for the aviation type , I have low confidence about these connectors as they are fairly cheap and made in china . I intend to use the Mundorf Angelique wire for this either 1mm diameter or 1.5 mm diameter . I have a question about the calculation of the resistivity of my connection set up . Let's imagine I use the following configuration : 2 wire ( 1.5mm) for each polarity ( plus or minus ) using and XLR 4 connector . The resistivity for one line will be 6.8 milliohm for the wire + 6 milliohm(3+3) for the connector resistivity = 12,8milliohm . Since I have two wire for each polarity the resulting resistivity should be ( 12.8*12.8)/(12.8+12.8)= 6.4 milliohm . Is this correct ? Thank for your feedback and to validate or not what I have written. ...
