  1. I got an answer from Daniel Weiss: "I just checked with the chip manufacturer, it is not possible to have dual wire at the other sampling rates I am afraid. This is a hardware thing in the chip we are using." No hope for dual wire mode for 44.1khz ~ 96khz. :-(
  2. I asked Chord Electronics and got a response as follows: "The DAC64 will support 44.1,48 and 96KHz if the transport can support dual wire for these frequencies. " Now I wish Weiss INT202 will support dual-wire mode for 44.1 and 48khz. It'd be great if the feature could be added by Firmware update. ;-)
  3. He replied he'll consider 'persistent dual-wire mode' for 88.2 and 96khz. For 44.1 and 48khz, no standard for dual-wire mode is a problem. (, which is exactly the same to what Mikey commented actually...) Also, I made an inquiry to Chord Electronics on how I can switch the DAC into single input mode when both its BNC inputs are alive. I'll post when answers come.
  4. [Mikey said,] >> I agree it would be nice if the Weiss interfaces sent all sample rates in Dual mode, than I won't have to get out of my chair Yeah. This is exactly what I need. What I have found so far is that Chord DAC64 MkII insists only dual-BNC input mode if both its BNC inputs are alive. So, I cannot switch to AES if INT202 and Chord DAC64 MkII are wired with two RCA-BNC cables, as INT202 sends out (same) signal on all of its output terminals. In my case, the only solution to utilize all the sampling rates from 44.1 to 192 without recabling is that INT202 sends all sample rates in dual mode, which is exactly what Mikey commented.
  5. Thanks a bunch for the links. I found in the linked page a comment by Kent that INT202, in dual-wire mode for 96khz or below, sends out all the same signal on every AES/EBU and RCA output terminal. That is, for sound files of 96khz or below, INT202 works in single-wire mode even if it's in dual-wire mode. Then, there is no way for me to listen to stereophonic sound unless I add another AES/EBU cable between INT202 and Chord DAC64 MkII & manually switch digital input from dual-BNC to AES/EBU on the side of Chord DAC64 MkII. :-(
  6. My INT202 is connected to Chord DAC64MkII with 2 RCA-BNC coaxial cables, and it is set in dual wire mode. (this configuration for playing 192khz sound files.) Everything's ok when I set the sampling rate of INT202 to 192khz (using INT202 driver software on my Mac Mini). But when I change the sampling rate into 96khz or 44.1khz, what I hear changes to monophonic! Is there a way to play 44.1khz or 96khz sound files in *stereophonic* while INT202 is set in the dual wire mode? Any comments, fully appreciated. -------- Equipments: Mac Mini (INT202 driver) & iTunes -> INT202 -> Chord DAC64 MkII -> Audionet Pre 1 G2 -> Edge NL10.1 -> eben X-Centric speakers
