  1. Just curious: have you ever compared the M2Tech hiFace Evo with the cheaper M2Tech hiFace 2 ? I am using the M2Tech hiFace 2 with the nDAC and it sounds quite good to me, but I never compared it to another USB/SPDIF interface
  2. Compared to other jazz records of the same period this Qobuz sounds good, but not exceptionally good. As usual with Qobuz the remastering engineer is not specified.
  3. The situation looks different in France. According to the SNEP (Some French record companies association) web site SNEP - Syndicat National de l'edition Phonographique, 2013 recorded music sales in France were 4 % jazz and 7.2. % Classical This is in page 38 of a pdf document called "Economie de la Production Musicale – Edition 2014"
  4. I looked for this download Naxos site and did not found it. what is the url ?
  5. Those are quite impressive photos. Too bad the resolution is low
  6. Qobuz is offering a couple of classic Blue Note albums with the so-called "Studio master" quality. Does anyone here have downloaded any of those BN Studio Masters? How do they sound? Are theses Studio Master some avatar of the infamous RVG remasters?
  7. It is indeed a great sounding album. But this is not IMHO among Rollins best albums. The trio formula with a sax, a bass and drums is not so common, and for good reasons I believe. A fourth instrument (e.g. a piano, another sax or a trumpet) would have added a lot to the music. In the current case furthermore there is very little interaction between the drums and the sax. I think that finally Shelly Manne and Sony Rollins plays quite different style of jazz and having them together is a little bit weird, exactly like the cover art of the album incidentally.
  8. I concur with you. This is an excellent performance, and the SQ is superb. Up to now what is offered as daily deal is first class. My only reservation is that I have already many of theses recordings.
  9. Larry Coryell, Live at the Village Gate Hot Tuna, Hot Tuna Jefferson Airplane, Bless Its Pointed Little Head Bob Marley and The Wailers, Babylon by bus Bob Marley and The Wailers , Live Sun Ra, Nuits de la fondation Maeght, volume 2 Hound dog Taylor, Beware of the Dog The Troggs, Live at Max's Kansas city
  10. One way out is to fill the "disk" tag. I do it every time a record contains more than one CD.
  11. Like many, I have no way to play DSD files. I am using a Mac Mini and a NAIM DAC Is there a method to convert (within the OSX world) such files to AIFF format? Any experience?
  12. Riccardo Chailly Gurrelieder (Deutsche Grammophon), and Maurizio Pollini Schönberg : L'œuvre pour piano (Harmonia mundi), are highly recommendable.
  13. Günter Wand number 5 is excellent musically, with very good SQ.Quite impressive.
  14. I concur with you, this is highly recommendable BluRay, and Anna Netrebko is stunning.
  15. Do you have their first (1970) acoustic record ? It was a wondreful record, with very good recording quality.
