  1. According to my freshman English professor at Cornell, Firedog is spot on. She'd slash that "in my opinion" out of the review in a heartbeat. That's really 101!
  2. Hi Tboooe, You may be interested to know Deezer is running on my Windows 7, 64 bit, PC. Playback is via the 2 PC setup (i.e. "Control PC" and "Audio PC") suggested by JPlay. It is also made possible by using "Asio Bridge High Fidelity Virtual Cable" which is using JPlay as the driver. Instructions for installing JPlay, configuring the 2 PC setup (highly recommended!), and for using the "virtual cable" may be found at Manual | JPLAY - hi-end audio player for Windows. . Deezer's sound is an improvement over Beats Music--as one might expect. And, as I've configured Deezer, its sound quality surpasses the sound of Deezer played from my Sonos's analog outputs. It also beats the sound of Deezer played via Sonos's coaxial digital output. I'm glad I have a streaming service offering sound quality this high. It's unprecedented. I've compared Deezer with the same files coming off of my hard drive. Deezer's bass is obviously less defined. I do not consider it an acceptable substitute for having the file on my hard drive. I'd love a solution to this shortcoming! If there are differences other than the bass I didn't notice. Deezer has been in my system just 4 days. The first day I made the comparisons. As soon as I heard the differences in bass, on the 3 or 4 or tracks (from different albums) I compared, I stopped comparing. My impressions came from listening to the following playback system: Sources: Sonos & a "Control PC"&"Audio PC" (as defined by JPlay's 2 PC setup) where the "Control PC" is fed by a separate USB hard drive holding my music files. DAC: Resonessence Concero HD getting Coax from the Sonos and getting USB from the "Audio PC." Preamp: McIntosh C48 Preamp Amp: Bel Canto Ref 1000MK II Mono Amps Speakers: KEF Blade pair and KEF Q400 subwoofer (pair) I'm looking forward to hearing how Qobuz and Wimp/Tidal sound.
  3. I need a device that will accept the toslink audio output of my toslink switcher and send it into my Windows 7 media PC. I run EQ software (J. River Media Center) on this PC and would like to use it for all of my toslink sources. My audio then leaves the PC, via its USB port, and goes to my DAC. I do have another USB port available on my media PC. This media PC also has esata and I'm pretty sure firewire as well. Anyone have any recommendations?
  4. Hi Murray, I'm interested in your latest experience with computer-based digital room correction. Thanks for sharing! Do you know if this would work with a NAS holding the music, a Transporter playing back the NAS files--and internet based content--and a wireless MacBook as the interface? Thanks, Dennis
