  1. Imho tt2 and HMS combo driven with 12v ups batteries and 3-4 ferrited BNC cables beats any dac combo on earth, it's so clean and realistic. There are much more details, depth and realism that it is difficult to believe that it is not a live performance.
  2. Want to share a little secret. Power both tt2 and HMS with sperate 12v ups battery like 18ah or 26ah. But be careful to not to accidentally connect the battery in reverse polarity as it will immediately blow the protection diode inside. So cover one terminal by some tape or something so that there is no possibility of reversing the polarity even by accident. I have permanently fixed one wire to terminal to avoid that possibility. After the battery is drained to the level when tt2 is not powered enough, it will shut done indicating low power and in low power HMS will start breaking intermittently the output through dual bnc. Then you know its time to charge the battery. One full charge of 26ah 12v battery gives around 15 to 18 hours of playback which is sufficient. Believe me it will be the best and cheapest upgrade you can do with this combo because no lps or even power bank can beat clean battery power as power banks also have regulators inside. Also get a good quality BNC cables like oyaide dbnc 510 or some good furutech bulk cables and use 3 or 4 clip on ferrite per cable on tt side. You don't need ferrite in all along the length as too many will affect "drivability of digital signal" by increasing the impedance too much and sound may lose weight or punch after certain numbers of ferrites (3 or 4 per cable ) don't heed any bullshit of RFI affecting tt2 if you keep both tt2 and HMS too close. I found no affect of RFI with the above tweaks in place .

currently using my laptop for listening to cd quality songs. i compared j river upsampler, resampler v with foobar in extreme mode and upsampled and saved a song using izotope 64bit src with extreme setting . but none came close to sinc of hqplayer with ns5 dither except izotope 64bit src, but then izotope can not be used in real time. the mystery of this ' special ' sinc filter is getting deeper and deeper .

somewhere got a bit of information about the filters, like closed form uses 16k taps and the original data can be recovered back as it is not an anodizing filter. what about poly sinc and sinc varieties? how many taps these use ?

hi, thanks for the reply. yes I am from India. I use chord mojo as headphone amp and dac. though it is very good but right now I was not having it with Mr. so in search of mojo like sound I tried Hq player upsampling. my laptop only supports 44.1k, 48k, 96k and 192k sample rates so I can use only few filters to upsample for 44.1k files. for 48k files all filters can be used to upsample upto 192k . I found sinc filter with shaped dither best . shaped dither can be warm sounding so at times I use ns9 dither also. I could not find much detail about sinc filter and closed form filters. which is theoretically best and what are the cut off and out of band suppression characteristics of these. how many samples these use.

I am new to hqplayer. I found upsampling 44.1khz files upsampled to 176.4 khz or 192kz sound great. I have a query. what is the best filter for upsampling 44 .1khz files to 176.4 or 192khz and what will be the best dither setting ?

sorry i meant 16bit 44.1khz files. actually i am using headphone out of my lenovo i7 4th gen laptop . i am umsampling to 192khz and music sounds much cleaner this way. my problem is that i am not able to load other filters like closed form . only sinc and few ploysinc variants are working. if i try to use closed form filter, there is no playback while up sampling . thanks !

I tried Hq player on my Intel i7 processor laptop. I could use only sinc and polysinc filter for 16 bit 22.5khz files successfully. why other filters like closed form do not work on my laptop ?

as a new user of hqplayer can anybody help me to get best sq upsampling setting for dsd64 to dsd256 for chord mojo ? i plan to use windows laptop with i7 4th gen . for i plan to keep pcm to pcm and dsd to dsd ( or dsd to pcm )as chord mojo does not handle dsd natively

hi, tried hqplayer few days back with my laptop as source, as currently i am not having my dac with me. after so many trials i liked sinc filter most. i upsampled cd quality to 192khz and it did wonders . i plan to use the sinc filter with my mojo once i get back the dac. anybody tried sinc filter to upsample ? most people prefer poly sinc varieties but to me sinc has still better clarity. can anybody tell in detail about this filter ? this sinc filter uses more resources than poly sinc but for a modern pc this is manageable .
