  1. So far, the top model audiohorizons tp 3.1svtv is the best i have heard and experienced in my set up. It is very natural, dynamic, fast, fluent. I really cant think of any better. This is equipped with V-caps, is 32-bit AKM chip, has 4 siemens cca tubes in it and operates together with AH s top model pre.
  2. Just curious as stereophile commented on this as better then the scarlatti and equal+ to Boulder
  3. 1. Less resolving but all recordings sound "good". 2. More resolving but bad recordings can be unlistenable. 3. Highly resolving to the point where bad recordings aren't bothersome and in fact are enjoyable much of the time. I know this sounds counterintuitive but it's been my experience lately. Chris; well said!
  4. I have the same experience; some of the claimed best dacs out there, can only be played with demo recordings, others you get your ears damaged. Good dacs play the good recordings very good, but can also play the other with ease.
  5. Hi, I am maybe in the wrong forum, but hopefully not..... I am after the best dac regardless of price; the one with the best flow and sense of naturalness yet detailed and dynamic. Today i only have the M2tech mod from John Kenny as a pc option, but dont often use it as i find a transport with aes/ebu superior. This might change in the future...
  6. "Best" is difficult, one could argue over transparency, details, air, timber, bottom octave, naturalness...... I have heard a lot; some of the most expensive ones argued to be the best i have found very impressive at first with the best recordings, but hard and tiresome on lesser recordings; even without the natural dynamic from low to crescendo. Also often to dry, without glow. I preffer naturalness, with lots of air and dynamics; the music must flow and glow! So far i have only heard one dac to do this according to my preferences....and its not the most expensive; i was wondering others thoughts.......
  7. No comments guys? Wadiaowners, Soulution, Spectral, Neodio.....................
  8. Same experience with removing ferrits myself on other components....
  9. The market is flowing over with dacs; some more or less expensive, others not. The reviews are often very promising, i wonder how to spot the very best out there; the one that sound the most natural sounding, yet dynamic, open, liquid... Whats the best dac regardless of price? Anyone? I dont care about facilities; only the best sound...
  10. Be aware that the x03 and the x-03 se sounds quite different.
  11. Hello, i have had the Gryphon Diablo together with the Esoteric X-03se. This was a splendid combination, i can stongly recommend it! I would advice that it require good cables, as both the products are very transparent and open. silent source cabling, or mit oracle should work very fine.
  12. Hello, I am very curious how this holds up with my X-03 se. Both because of different dac inside, newer technology and usb input. Paul
