1. Thanks for this info will take a good look at it DM :)
2. Will have to take a look at what is currently available but are there any suitable drives that one could convert to build a suitable transport? This would mainly be for Red book CD use
3. I am considering SATA DVD or Blu-Ray drives as I would like to use a DVD (BD) drive as a Digital Transport For discussion, has anyone here tried or seen details online to make a digital transport from a SATA DVD (BD) ROM drive? It would be interesting to read others experiences to see if it is possible to avoid using noisy computer power supplies etc, and build an effective digital transport. I may have seen in the past some kits to convert old IDE drives to make CD players but nothing, nor DIY plans to convert SATA drives to allow extraction of digital data in the form of S/PDIF or I^2/S data streams? Thanks, Simon
4. I have tried to download the samples and the links above and in the post above seems to be broken, any chance of them being reactivated?
Thanks
Simon
5. Excellent info, thanks for posting Simon
6. Thanks, I gather the Juli@ works well with Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit as there is good driver support?
7. Soundcard choice M-audio 192 or the ESI-Juli@ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been offered a choice between (at really low cost from a friend) the M-audio 192 and the ESI-Juli@ Baring in mind I will mainly be using the digital output (S/PDIF) fed into my own custom DAC, and will only use the onboard DACS via their analogue outs for casual listening. The ESI I gather will need modding to extract the best quality S/PDIF signal, as the flying leads are of poor quality. Which between these two would you choose? Thanks, Simon
