  1. Marco appears to have cracked it with not one but 2 drivers...I have tried out both and both are stable on my 2008 mac book. blessed relief. He said he will not post it (the latest one) as yet (I assume its some kind of Beta and maybe he would like to be absolutely sure) because he wants to post it in serial order. Apparently this driver is number 2 down the line. But he has no objection to my sharing it. If anyone wants a copy pl send me an email at [email protected]. I do not know how to attach it to this message. Best regards Aubrey
  2. Background I have a 2 yr old macbook intel/snow leopard. Earlier I used the Hiface BNC version with an adaptor - no clicks and pops. But I thought the impedance loading thru RCA would work better with my DAC, so switched to RCA. It does seem to sound much better (remember issues from cartridge impedance loading?) now. But I get the clicks and pops. The Fix On this forum earlier someone (thank you!) had mentioned he found a solution by switching outputs away from M2Tech in system pref>sound>. It actually works for me too - everything becomes a bit cleaner and the clicks and pops go away. This has been a fairly consistent result over 3 days after a full week of frustration.. The caveat However, it only works when AMARRA is switched on . Somehow, AMARRA holds the output thru hiface whilst simultaneously correcting the issue. Even then, however, the period the 'fix' lasts is variable. Have had as little as 10 mins and as much as 4 hours of clean music. Repeating the process when it starts again seems to provide a new temporary fix. Clicks/pops usually start again when a diff res file is played....So switch back to hiface in 'sound' options and then switch away again.... Hope this is useful to users with older macbooks like me. Best regards
