I currently have a naim system and I bough a logitech squeezebox (SB) to see how it works.
I hesitate between buying a benchmark DAC1 to enhance the sound of the SB or change my system to the naimuniti.
I like the functionalities of the squeezebox center but sometimes, it needs to be restarted, it is not the most stable server I've seen... but still, it makes its job...
My question here concerns the digital output of the receivers.
As my CDs have been ripped with EAC, always double checked, I am sure that the initial digital information is perfectly the one that was on the CD.
So the aim is to be sure that it is perfectly conducted through the network to the digital output of the receiver.
Then, the only thing to enhance is the D/A function.
Do you know if it is possible to verify the fact that your signal is the same at the end?
Is it possible that some part of the signal is lost or changed on the way?
Would some output be better than others? (coax, opt, usb)
I never understood why a CD drive can be so expensive when I see that at 3 times the reading speed, you can perfectly extract a CD...
