I have tried searching here at CA and on the JRiver site but cant find anything useful about how to use dc-bass source in JRMC. Reading this thread it seems unlikely that bit perfect playback can be obtained from iTunes /Windows 7. I have around 400GB of music stored as Apple Lossless files ( all ripped from CD so I dont really have any interest in other than 16/44.1 format )which I have only ever used via iPod. I would like to be able to continue doing this as well as now play them back optimally via the computer digital out to an external DAC. One possibility is to buy a Mac which I would at present prefer not to do. I understand that JRiverMC 14 will give excellent quality playback but doesnt play Apple Lossless files ? Is there any way to play Apple Lossless files via JRiver properly ? Another possibility is to use my iPod with something like the Peachtree iDecco which I presume avoids the problem or as suggested above use an airport express which I have read has its own set of problems . Suggestions from anyone would be very welcome.
