  1. Thanks for the responses. My local IT genius friend got me straightened out. For some reason, in 2 separate instances of updating to beta firmware, a connection issue related to my static IP occurred. I had to re-establish a static IP address for my NAS, then remount the disk on Lightning DS to the proper path. I was able to begin the re-indexing process, and the software is re-scanning my library as we speak. Sorry for hijacking the thread with my issue, and thanks for all attempts to help!
  2. Gonna throw this question out. Anyone here running a Synology NAS on the network to their Aries, who might understand stuff like smb protocols and such? Oh, and does that same person have nothing to do on a Saturday better than to troubleshoot a smb error I'm getting on the Lightning DS app lol ?? Actually, my first question is, when trying to enter my Network Drive Path, how do I define the smb address? is it my IP address followed by the music folder name? I need the proper nomenclature too! And if I get no response to this, I'll understand completely! Thanks in advance.
  3. Perhaps I'm simply mistaken (it has been known to happen, calm down people), but I believe that while sitting down to listen to some music, my Aries automatically opted into the beta update and next thing I knew, I was on version 5.0 beta2. If I didn't already know, from past experience, the steps necessary to "opt in", I would say that maybe I did something that mistakenly initiated it. But you really cannot do that. You have to access your account page through the settings icon, and then manually select to opt in. Going back to 4.1.0. Weird. I suppose I will soon discover that I have to re index my entire NAS library. Good times. Not sure why I'm sharing this. Maybe a bit of a warning. Or an inquiry as to anyone else experiencing this.
  4. Looking forward to the new update, and appreciative of those who take the leap into beta for the benefit of all of us. My question is in regards to the Aries soon being "Roon ready" or enabled. Does that mean that the Aries will serve as the "computer" that is needed to run the Roon software on the network? Will there still need to be another computer somewhere on the network running Roon software? Thanks in advance!
  5. Did you try clicking the "All Dates" option at the top? Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  6. Perhaps there's a misunderstanding here. I don't think Leeuwarden has any connection to Auralic. Just a user sharing that he/ she noticed an update was available. No one has any obligation to help anyone here. Not even a manufacturer, as this is a voluntary web forum. Auralic has easily available avenues for requesting support. I am curious if any other DS users have had any issues with the update. Anxious to give it a go but I'll hold off for a bit if there's risk of problems. Sent from my iPhone using Computer Audiophile
  7. Just emailed them myself. Mikey, I don't have any Ethernet connected to the Aries. Only using wifi. But yes, I suspect that something about the update that has changed Ethernet/wifi connectivity is likely playing a primary role in this. My only question is if the version has been "revoked" why not activate a software update back to the last latest beta version they are currently choosing to run. I wasn't automatically updated either. I got the popup saying a new version was available and I took the bait!
  8. Orange. Why do you ask? So, I upgraded to 4.0Beta5, and it's since been revoked. What does that mean for me? How do I "go back"?
  9. Oddly things just reconnected. Nothing I'm aware of doing to make it recognise the network path all of a sudden, but it did. Maybe a factor of Beta being Beta??
  10. Need a bit of help. DS currently can't find my synology nas through DS settings. This occurred after a firmware updated. Any others with this issue? I've been running beta successfully with no apparent issues for about a week now. I am able to locate and access the nas on my MacBook through the network so I don't think it's a network or nas issue.
  11. Sorry. But I'm slow to digest these things. I have an Aries, a NAS, and an iPad. This isn't enough to enjoy roon at its full potential through the iPad app??
  12. Yes, I did just identify where I can go to update manually: Settings icon>Music Library>Lightning Server>Drive Information>Rescan That worked. But I would like to see this become an automatic thing. And yes Jason. the "The" issue.......*sigh*
