Hello vanya I beleive the problem come from Airfoil which cannot handle well the new AE when used with digital. If u try with analogic, it's working (but useless....). I wrote to Airfoil and they promissed me to look at it, it was some time ago....didn't came back to me... I stopped using Airfoil so far and everything is fine with itunes. So no resolution here, I think people should write to Airfoil in order to pressure them to solve this issue.... hope it's help Fabien

Hello, I just read your post and it match with my sound problem when I use Airfoil connected to my AE + PS Audio DACIII (with mini-toslink cable). I experience dropouts and distortion when I play music from Itune through Airfoil, whatever the format (I tried flac, wav, aiff, aac, mp3). This problem didn't occured when my AE was connected to my amp with analogic output. No problem when I use Itunes directly to AE + DAC. (I tested the DAC with my CD player, works fine). So I think the issue comes from Airfoil, I just send a request to the Airfoil support team. Any others experienced this issue recently ? any thoughts ? Thks , Fabien
