  1. yes i was. perceived differences: lower noise floor and general sound being better (clearer ?) probably cause of the lower noise floor.
  2. i prefer vista over xp. (plus i'm using 8gb of CAS3 RAM which XP doesn't support). when i tried the beta vista in 2k6, i was floored that it sounded better than a tweaked xp out of the box...
  3. i think that tweeter blowing issue is overblown... who's ever changed the filename of a song WHILE playing ????? plus.. i think Chris mentioned xp was the best sounding os
  4. hi Chris, i read that you did a comparison among different os' (ubuntu / vista / xp / os x) on your mac pro.. are the media players in vista more transparent ? oh and how's the upsampling ? thanks and regards les
  5. oh.. maybe settling in of my diy ic ? i really dunno...
  6. i got a 7200.11 seagate and made it a dedicated drive for my music and movies.. thing is, it sounds different. does the drive have less jitter or is it because itunes has uninterrupted access from the dedicated drive ? i used to have my music on a 640gb drive shared with the os.
