1. No replies after 3 weeks, so I replaced the Allo USBridge with an iFi Zen Stream, which sounds better anyway.
2. Hi, My USBridge (Dietpi) is connected to a Peachtree Nova 300 via USB cable. This setup worked fine for years, but suddenly stopped mid-song. In Roon, I can see the 3 enable buttons, but none of these is for the clean port. When I disconnect from the clean port and use one of the dirty ports, I can see my Peachtree fine, labeled as Gym in the image below. Problem is that it sounds like AM radio. The clean port used to sound good. 1) how can I get the clean port working again? 2) if unable to do so, is the Sparky board compatible with any other Allo HAT with a clean USB output? Thanks!
3. I’ve also got a Usbridge configured with Dietpi. Were you able to convert it to operate on Ropieee? I’d like to do the same.
4. I use this one, which is 5v, 2.5A. Works great. iFi iPower Low Noise DC Power Supply with International Travel Adapters 5V - Upgrade Your Audio/Video/Electronics
5. My USBbridge Signature indicates that an update is available. When I run the update, I receive the following error message: cp: error writing 'boot/dietpi/patch-file' : no space left on device Reboot the device allows me to recover operation of the USBbridge Signature, but the Dietpi update remains unprocessed. System status indicates total storage 14913, free storage 10519. Please advise recommended steps to follow to implement the update.
6. Hi, My new unit arrived today. I plug two 5V power supplies into it using the USB-C connectors. The Digione Sig board powers up as indicated by a green light. No other lights are visible on any of the other boards. I tried swapping the two supplies, but had the same result. What do I need to do? Many thanks, Bob
7. Hi, Can I add a Digione or Digione Signature card to either a USBridge or a USBridge Signature? What would I need to purchase to make this upgrade? The USBridge and USBridge Signature are wifi capable; would the Digione card be able to access the wifi in this scenario? Many thanks!
8. I have been using my USBridge successfully with 2 5V power supplies; one outputs 3 A and the other outputs 2.5 A. While experimenting with wifi, I unplugged the power supplies to move the device to another room and plugged them back in. No power! I moved them back to the original location and plugged them back in and again, no power. I tested the two power supply units and they are working fine. I can see a blue light inside the black aluminum case of the USBridge, but no other lights. What do I need to do to get operational again?
9. With thanks to the support group, my unit is now operating correctly, and sounds very good! To get to that point, I had to uninstall and then reinstall Roon Bridge on DietPi. I also had to set the Soundcard option to USB-DAC. Once these two steps were complete, and following a reboot, I was able to find and enable the USBridge within Roon. Thinking about getting a second device for my main rig!
10. Just received a newly purchased USBridge. Am able to access the dashboard. Clicked View under Roon Bridge. Clicked enable; switches slide to the green side. Clicked Save Changes; then I get the spinning wheel, Successfully Updated, and then the switches slide back to red. Clicked Back, and I see that the Roon Bridge status is Inactive. What else do I need to do?
11. Thanks for providing the link to the product brochures. The QX-8 does not include an HDMI input. Am I alone in wishing that Ayre would include at least one for DSD decoding from a suitably equipped blu ray player, such as the OPPO 105? Including at least one HDMI input would seemingly make this product a slam dunk purchase.
12. Hey Jim, I am also a Lynx AES16 user, wanting to upgrade but for different reasons. I'd like to try DSD files for example. Your post is 2 years old now. Can you please share what you tried and what you learned? Many thanks! Bob
13. I'd very much like to build a server based on the CAPS designs, but all of these designs seem to be based on USB technology. I'd prefer to use my Lynx audio card for a few practical reasons: I already own it; The distance from my server to my DAC is more than the approximately 16 foot limit associated with USB cables; and I already have a sufficiently long custom made XLR cable to feed my DAC. The Lynx card requires a PCI slot, and there aren't any in the motherboards specified for the CAPS designs. Further, I am unsure whether the specified cases would fit a half size PCI card. The card dimensions are 5.0" H X 7.4" W X 0.75" D. I would appreciate advice on an alternate motherboard that would include a PCI slot and otherwise meet the design parameters specified in the CAPS designs. I would also appreciate advice on the suitability of the CAPS cases and power supplies with the use of the Lynx card and alternate motherboard. Are there other design considerations that I am missing?
14. Hi Chris,
I see you started this effort two years ago. Can you please provide a summary of how far you got in your evaluation of various substitutes for the Lynx cable, and your observations thus far?

Robert Hartley of TAS specifically recommended the Straight Wire Info-Link as a replacement for the Lynx cable within his review of the B&W 802 Diamond, but it's not clear whether he compared this to other alternatives beyond the Lynx cable. As you seem to have embarked on a comparison between various brands, it would be great to have your assessment.

Many thanks!
