  1. OK, are we saying that a rip is a rip irrespective of which software you use? If that is the case I will start with itunes into AIFF as I can always convert AIFF to another format later if required. What would you suggest as base setting for importing with itunes?
  2. OK i suppose that leads to another question is itunes the way to go or are there better alternatives? I dont have any real issues with itunes to be honest and i like the fact that my ipad or iphone can be used as a remote. What I had planned to do was decide on the correct format and work out how to rip it then look for the playback software. However, if you are saying that an AIFF rip by itunes will sound the same as one by MAX for instance then I would probably use itunes as I have a mac mini dedicated for music.
  3. I have spent the last couple of weeks researching the best format to rip my music collection into but I can honestly say I am now more confused than I was at the start. If I am correct then AIFF or WAV would be best as these are uncompressed, however, the RIPNAS and XIVAm8 both seem to use FLAC so is this the best? Does anybody have any advice on which way to go or where to look for advice? Also which programme would you recommend on a MAC, I was thinking of using MAX as the ripper and going FLAC but I may be wrong. Sorry if this goes over old ground but I am really confused.
