  1. What do you guys think of the Oyaide db-510 vs BlackCat Silverstar 75?
  2. I don't think vocals are recessed at all, al least it has not been my experience. Comparing it to my previous setup (Parasound Classic pre+amp), everything, including vocals, sound much more relaxed and natural.
  3. You can also download the "Bitperfect Test" files from the audiophilleo website. These are very small files that can help you check if all resolutions are playing ok. Audiophilleo technical support
  4. Eloise beat me to that one. Optical is limited to 24/96 on macs. If you are using USB, try downloading another player (ie. pure music trial version) just to check if it plays 24/192 correctly.
  5. Finally solved the 24/192 issue with JRiver and AP2. Reinstalled the player, driver, and changed USB ports. One of them did it, don't know which one, but my NAD gets a perfect 24/192 signal now.
  6. In my experience, the NAD c390dd blew away my previous setup from the very beginning. No need for burn in.
  7. Decided to download jPlay last night to try another player before installing additional drivers and everything (24/176, 24/192) worked flawlessly using both jPlay Mini and jPlay plugin for JRiver. Back to standalone JRiver things are again limited to 24/96, so its definitely something related to the software settings.
  8. Will try them tonight, thanks! What will these drivers do that regular usb drivers don't?
  9. Just tried Mac+AudirvanaPlus and 24/192 and 24/176 files played great an the NAD. Going back to PC+JRiver and still no 24/192 or 24/176. Reinstalled Audiophilleo driver, and played around with some configurations in Jriver, but had no luck. Has anyone experienced something similar?
  10. Well, this really helps. Now we can confirm the NAD accepts 24/192 files via coaxial. Then it could be something with the setup of the PC driver or JRiver (will check later with my mac) Or some incompatibility issue between NAD and AP2. (Maybe someone that has used them together can help answer this one)
  11. Many nad c390dd owners have reported using it with an ap1 or ap2 with great success. Hasn't anyone tried 24/192 files? The NAD is my only DAC, but I will try using my MacBook Pro with Pure Music tonight to see if anything changes.
  12. But, according to the NAD website and manual: C 390DD Audio Resolution chart. USB Type A - 24 bit/48 kHz USB Type B - 24 bit/96 kHz Optical - 24 bit/192 kHz Digital Coax - 24 bit/192 kHz Optional HDMI DD HDMI-1 - 24 bit/192 kHz Coax should handle 24/192 perfectly, why wouldn't it?
  13. Just got an Audiophilleo2 but cannot play files above 96/24 in the NAD. Tried lots of 192/24 files, but the c390dd reads 96khz. Using a windows 7 pc with the audiophilleo192/24 driver installed and jriver. What am I doing wrong?
