  1. Since I am on wood floors the stock BXT spikes were an accident waiting to happen with floor gouging. I considered the Gaia's but the cost for that size is up there. I use sorbothane rubber pieces under the base plates. The Navy uses it on submarines for sound/vibration control. Easy to find in any shape or durometer (hardness) you need.
  2. Interesting idea about isolating the Control. I never thought much about it. A little experimentation is in order.
  3. I tried several "audiophile" power cables, fancy ethernet cables and power conditioners but could not say anything improved the SQ. The Kii Three and control are fine with their included cables. I use a full suite Innuos front end with Black Cat Cable Digit USB. All the Innuos gear is great and the Sense OS sounds good. The Black Cat USB is the first cable I ever used that made an improvement. Adding the BXT was a game changer.
  4. Thanks for sharing the review. That was a very accurate description of my experience with the 3/BXT in my set-up.
  5. Hey Kii Three fans, I am looking to implement the Kii system into a multichannel set up. So far I have two Kii Three/BXT and another pair of Kii Three's so a total of four. Moving towards a stereo / Home Cinema set up with surround. Maybe one more Kii Three for the center with Kii Three/BXT for left and right all behind an acoustically transparent drop down screen. The other pair of Three's for the rear surround. Thinking about using an AV processor with analogs out to Kii analog XLR inputs. Will still use my streamer with Kii control for stereo mode and raise the screen. Set up two profiles in the Kii control - one for stereo and the other for cinema. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!
  6. Look at Cazzesman comments in this thread just above. He seems to have done it successfully.
  7. Excellent comment on the BXTs contribution to the Kii Three. Exactly what I experienced in my system.
  8. My trip to Munich HIgh End Show and to Kii open house got cancelled. Glad you made it and thanks for the report. Yes, when I added the BXT to my Three it did everything better - dynamics, lower distortion/better resolution, bass response went deeper and clearer. Did not know there was musical detail in the lower bass. Hope to make the trip next year.
  9. BXT will turn the Kii Three into a different experience.
  10. I went through a lot of streamers and built two NUC/ROCKs. For the money and simplicity the ROCK via USB to the control works great and is robust with easy updates. If you want more - optimize the system using something like REW to sweep the speaker/room and make adjustments with the Kii Control settings to get the best room response (all free). Room treatments will help with the reverb time (thick carpets and overstuffed furniture is good). Consider a either two 20Amp service outlets or a single 30Amp dedicated service (no fancy conditioners needed). Lastly a well designed streamer like Innuos and Black Cat USB cables can improve SQ once you have everything else working and you like to sit in a dedicated sound room with low noise floor and listen carefully. So....Yes, NUC/ROCK via USB to the control will give you the 99% of the Kii Audio experience. Diminishing return will soon follow but it is there if you want to pursue. I did not even mention the BXT yet.
  11. If you press the P/R button this will reset power and DSP functions. Be careful as this reset may leave the volume at 100 and the next audio signal will blast you out of your chair. Just be sure to adjust the volume back after a reset.
  12. Is the RCA to XLR cable/adapter known to be the correct configuration and tested? Also the KII Control will have to set to XLR input by simply touching that input on the control.
  13. Anyone with BXT's tried isoacoustics Gaia? They recommend either the Gaia II or III for the 112 Lb. speaker. Cost doubles as you go from the II to the III. Any comments on using these with the Kii Three/BXT?
