  1. Thanks Maldur. Not sure why system requirements are not listed.
  2. Thanks Ted for the guide! I was successful in upgrading firmware, installing the ripping app and converting a SACD to .iso files. But I am having issues installing the Jesus's GUI. I downloaded Mac OSX - iso2dsd_OSX_v5.zip When I try opening "iso2dsd_gui.jar" I receive the following message "The Java JAR file could not be launched." I am using a Mac OS 10.6.8. I read the Mac usage #3 & 4 but do not quite follow.
  3. Hi ted_b, I just purchased a PS3 CECHE01 with firmware 3.41. Would you so kind to send me your guide and link?
  4. Hi Chris, Did you by any chance try using the word clock output connected to a Lynx AES16 card? Or in your opinion with the advancement in USB, make the Lynx card outdated technology. Would the AES16 even support DSD?

  6. C.A. Has been instrumental in building my digital playback setup for the past year. I recently downloaded Hdtracks, Rolling Stones Let It Bleed, 176kHz/24 and Big Hits (High Tide & Green Grass), 176kHz/24. The other day I decided to compare the download to SACD versions and was shock how much better the SACD sounded. I won’t go into detail but the change was like night and day. My SACD player is a Sony DVP9000ES modified by Richard Kern (Audiomod). Preamp: Krell HTS 7.1. My feeling is the Benchmark DAC that is connected directly to amps is the weakest link. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  7. I received a 15% discount on my next purchase. I guess because I am able to play 88.2kHz files and your setup does not support it.
  8. Just got a email from HDTracks. The mislabeled it as 96kHz and made the adjustment on their website to reflect the album as 88kHz.
  9. I too have downloaded Lang Lang with the same issue: 88.2kHz not 96kHz. I have inquired HDtracks but have not received any reply.
  10. No, but I will try it out. thanks JR.
  11. I just received HRx DVD-R disks from RR. I am right in ripping the WAV file using the XLD softward, translate it to AIFF format. When I translate each track displays as a different albums in iTunes. Update. The issue with track displaying as albums, I found a solution by going into the get info and typing the album name, all track merged into one album.

Hi Chris – I think I got it. In MIDI settings I select the following options: Default Input: 1:AES16 in Slot-4 Properties for: 1:AES16 in Slot-4 Audio Input: 1:Record 1 Format: 44100.0Hz 2ch-32 bit Default Output: 1:AES16 in Slot-4 System Output: 1:AES16 in Slot-4 Audio Output: 1:Play 1 Format: 44100.0Hz 2ch-32 bit One thing I noticed is Amarra does change and display the format automatically to the mHz of the Aiff file, for example 176.4Hz/24, but when I open MIDI the 176.4Hz is ok but the bit rate alway displays 32 bit, and will not allow any other bit rate. Is this right? Regards, John

I am very new to all this and need help in my set up. My set (thanks to this site) is a Mac G5 2.3 , OS 10.4.11, with a 60 GB OCZ solid state drive , and an internal Barracuda ES.2, 1 TB hard drive to store music files. The sound card is Lynx Studio Technology: AES16, With a Gotham audio GAC-2AES HD-26 to XLR break-out cable connected to Benchmark DAC1. For software I am using Amarra 1.2/iTunes. What I would like to know and cannot seem to find from the Lynx manual is how to set up the AES16 in Audio MIDI setup. If some could provide a screen shot? Also how to set up the Lynx using the Lynx Mixer, since I will only be using 2 channels. Regards, John
  15. If you need to convert anything over 48kHz, do not use DVD Audio Ripper. It down samples 96kHz to 44kHz. I found this out through their tech support.
