  1. thanks all , exact mani, but there is a remote connector at the back of the dac1. Somebody has manufacture one cable with a fader (volume control I think) and modify the connectors of the headphones to control it through the digital volume control of the dac. Thanks thomas, but I don't risk in a first time the power supply upgrade if I buy the afi1. Perhaps later if I find a good specialist . I'm waiting now for my Dac 1. He's on the way. For the interface, I will ask Daniel for advice. When all my equipment will be connected. I will try to edit a post here on the forum. My first step is the choice of my interface. As Mani says, the aif1 have a lot of options I perhaps never use.
  2. Thanks a lot Mani for your comment, and I 've read the other post here about this subject. But if I want to connect headphones too, I need the aif1 I think? Isn't it? If I modify the connectors of my headphones I suppose? It's really not easy to take a decision, but if the quality of the 2 units are the same, I tend to buy the int202 for it's easy use, remote and volume control and reselling my preamp in this case. The problem is :here I can't listen to the 2 units to compare them. I listen to the aif1 (a friend of me has a medea and 800 D b&w and I never heard such a music quality but the preamp was a classe omega of 18000 euros). It was, I admit not everybody's installation. So I first decide to buy the aif1 but discover recently the existence of the int 202 and now I'm waiting to read the comments of somebody who has test and hear it. What I 've listen by my friend was incredible , sensual, like silk, sweet as a woman, I can't describe it . You really feel the music like a poem . Technical words have no sense here, sorry. I will contact tomorrow Daniel about this. I will post later my impressions when I 've taken my decision, bought one of these units, and test all the material.
  3. I agree with this, Barrows. But the DAC2 (equal of the minerva) is not so expensive and I tried it before the DAC1 .With this unit too , you feel the music , you can listen hours and hours,it's a sensual pleasure. It's subjective, I agree. I didn't listen to the ayre DAC .I compare it only with my cd player. I give you just a little personal impression.
  4. I've an ayre cx5e cd player and be very happy with it. Fabulous soundstage, deep scene, precise but a friend has a weiss Medea+imac and there is no comparison. The weiss is a lot above the ayre but it's not the ayre DAC(emotional and.....incredible, but you must test it yourself) . I don't know if the ayre cd uses the same dac?? I will resell my ayre cd . I think Weiss will sell a new DAC 202 with remote control, volume control and firewire. I think it will be fantastic.
  5. Hello, I'm new on this forum and be happy to have part in this forum. My english is not perfect sorry.I live in belgium. So, I have a Weiss DAC1MK2 and would know what can be the best solution between first the weiss AIF1 interface or the new INT 202 . I saw this model on the news on the weiss website . I would know if I could loose in quality with the int 202 in comparison with the AIF1. I think the int202 is to compare with the DAC2. Can somebody help me with this? And is this model today available in the shops? Does somebody have an idea of the price of this unit (int 202)?Many thanks. The int 202 has the advantage to have a volume control and a remote, I know this but I use aan audio research preamp and if the quality of this int 202 is so good I will reell my preamp (no more need it ). Is this a good solution?
